2014 E250 Wheel Swap Advice
I plan on swapping out the stock 17's for the AMG 18's on a new 2014 E250 and would love some advice from the experts in terms of buying/selling/pricing. Unfortunately, this type of wheel upgrade isn't possible through the dealer. I understand that the stock wheels have tires similar to run flats as there is no room for a spare in the trunk. That said, for the most part this will be a commuter car and I plan on purchasing a tire sealant kit. In fact, I believe this is how the E250s are sold in Canada.
1.) I have located a staggered set of AMGs from a 2014 E350 in the LA area for $1800. Does this seem like a fair price? These include Continental tires with < 80 miles.
2.) What would be the best way to sell the stock 17's? Craigslist, dealership, mbworld, etc.? It seems like there may be forum members looking for 17's for winter tires?? What do you feel would be a fair asking price? In theory, the tires would only have dealership miles as I would ask the dealer to swap them out for me.
Many thanks in advance for your time and thoughts...
$1800 for brand new set of rims/tires/amg -- seems like a good value considering how much each item (tire, rim) would be individually msrp ... would still do some negotiating on that though -- offer $1500.
they offered me $75 each rims only. they were pretty much had plenty of scuff marks and rashes on the rims.
i am still using hte tires and TPMS from my stock wheels.
when my tires go out will upgrade to 18" wheels and tires
i probably could get $100 each but it was not worth my time and listing.
again this is what i did
Play with this calc. You shouldn't have issues with just 1.5% difference rear tire speed differences.
