Hardwiring for Radar Detector? (W212 2013+)

Anyone hardwire a radar detector on their later model year E-class? (2013+)

I've searched the forum and almost everyone runs a line to the glove box to use the cigarette socket in there. But the problem is Mercedes stopped putting in that socket sometime around late 2012/early 2013. I have a 2014 and there's no socket in there.

Before pulling panels out looking for a switched line, I was hoping someone else has already done it and can save me time and point me in the right direction.

I don't need instructions on where to put the detector and run the lines. I just need a pointer to the easiest accessible switched power line and ground that I can tap.

Thanks!

Thanks, appreciate it. But unfortunately the overhead console in the w212 doesn't have any switched v12 lines.

Looks like the only switched v12 line in easy reach from the dashboard is going to be the cigarette lighter in the center console.

I'm looking for instructions now on how to open up the center console.

My best buy guy hardwired it into the left side of the steering wheel dash. Apparent there's a wire there and it has been working for a year now with no problems. Cost 26 bucks. But mines the prefacelift though.

Maybe I'm crazy, but there aren't enough drugs in this world for me to take a brand new MB to best buy for a wiring job.
