Do you guys have any protection installed? Do you just fill it with touch up paint? Or just accept it as a part of life??? Chips **** me off personally ....

I just fix them using this http://www.drcolorchip.com/ and move on.
Unless you stay away from truck route, then it's just part of life.
Hwy 5 and 60 for SoCal folks and 580 and 80 for NorCal folks

I also use Dr. Colorchip on my 2012 silver E. I would probably rate it an 8 at best, primarily due to the color match. I used it on a black CLK550 I used to own and it worked much better.

Had my car clear bra'd immediately after I purchased it. So it looks new.
On other cars, I have used Dr Color Chip. Works pretty well if you watch the video and follow the process. It worked ok on white. Couldn't see the touch ups from 2ft away. Closer than that you can see feint little lines around where the chips were but it's MUCH better than just using standard touch up paint or leaving the chips there.
