keyless-go

I'm considering 2011 e350 with keyless-go system.
I'm currently driving 11 gl350 bluetec with P2 option so I know i can tell if it has keyless-go however, I'm confused with e350...

please see attached photo. there are small black buttons on door handles so I can lock my gl350 as it has P2 (keyless-go) system however I'm not sure if e350 is the same way or not... as some dealers describes in their ad that it comes with keyless-go but as you can see from attached photo, there is no button...

can someone tell me how I can tell if e350 has keyless-go system or not besides the push start button? (some pics don't have push start button shown though)

That little colored square is the touch pad for the keyless go, not the black infrared window. All 4 doors should have that, so you can open and lock the car from any door. That is the way mine is. I have an E550, but they are the same.

As KEY08 said there is no button on the E-class. The "button" is the square shallow indentation on the handle. The handle is touch sensitive. This outside square area is the push button to lock. To unlock you touch the handle in the inside like when you pull the handle it unlocks from the touch.

The black or dark red window is for the infrared signal as you can use the key FOB to open or close all windows at the same time.

in 2011 if they list xenon lights or p2 package, it has keyless go. In 2010 you could tell by the hockey stick led lights, but not in 2011.

Also in pics looking for the button for push start if they show that view.

Not sure what you mean exactly. The whole handle is touch sensitive. Touch anywhere on the outside and the car locks. You don't have to touch the square. Likewise to unlock - just touch the inside of the handle.

Best advice I got - you can lock he door with a hip check if your hands are full.

I might be wrong, but my recollection is that the button is for closing the sunroof and windows while locking.

i know you can place your hands inside of door handle to unlock if you have keyless-go option. what I was confused about was that there is a square rubber button on door handle to lock the car. I'm not talking about that small infrared sensor at all. in that pic, there is a square on handle itself which it doesn't seem to have that square rubber button as I have on my gl....

There is NO button on the keyless-GO E-Class. The OUTSIDE of the handle is touch sensitive, just touch anywhere on the OUTSIDE of the handle to lock the car.
There is a slight square indent on the OUTSIDE of the handle that is used to operate the windows/sunroof with keeyless-Go.

Aside from the ways that drsaab mentioned, an E-Class (2010-2013) car equipped with keyless-Go will have chrome on top of the handle. (I dont know if that changed for 2014).

Without the little touch pad/sensor/indentation, you do not have Keyless Go. I understand you can touch the door handle to activate it open or close. Look for this on the door handles and you are good. The start/stop button may not show up in any photos because not everyone uses it, including me.

For the all window operation the sensor is the dark smaller rectangular area. It is the infra red sensor to read signal from the KEY-FOB. The bigger indentation is where the touch sensor is located at. It is true that touching anywhere on the handle should lock the doors but it is more sensitive on that shallow indentation area.

^ That is correct. when locking or unlocking my car I always touch that indentation as the rest of the door handle does not always respond.

Perhaps you should check your manual. In order to operate the windows using the infared would require you to have the key in your hand.
I said "to operate the windows/sunroof with keeyless-Go"
Press the small square indent and hold, all your windows will go up and the sunroof will close.

If your car doesn't respond at the slightest touch anywhere on the handle perhaps you should get it checked. I can close mine by touching anywhere on the handle with any part of my body even with gloves or my butt with heavy jeans on.

+1 I give my handle a light tap with my knuckle as I walk away. Works every single time.
