Dragging back up an old thread. So, does anyone know definitively if this should happen? This video says this is a US model but mine does not do this.

While I would prefer to have separate Front and Rear Fog lights as I have on my 2007 ML350, it appears to me that the 2014 E350
DOES have front fog lights as well.
I press the Fog light button when someone is following me too close. It annoys the heck out of them.

US model W212 fog light function
Quoting myself here - the guy says this only happens to US Diesel models, the gas versions don't do it.

WTF. Can anyone confirm with an E250?

yes, this is the W212 with lighting package. It should do that when fog lamps are turned on. The base model with static LEDs won’t do that.

My 2015 E400 with the lightening package does not do this either... how odd. Maybe the sensors have to detect foggy conditions?

Nope, it is only on the diesels in the USA. It is not on the gasoline ones - even with the lighting package. It seems like Mercedes forgot to code it out of the diesels. Anyone super familiar with DAS should be able to code it in - but I had no luck finding anyone who could do this with my W204 w/lighting package and so I am not holding my breath.

I would agree with them being totally unnecessary on the W212 with the lighting package. But I do wish they had allowed the fog feature to work on ILS-equipped USDM gasoline models
