Possible performance modifications for W212 BT

Hi guys - I realized this question has been asked before but little information came to light in the other forums I read outside of a few aftermarket mods that would void my warranty.

Does MB offer warrantied ECU modification (BRAUHAUS for example) or is this only limited to non-diesel sedans?

What type of HP and Torque gain will I see by doing this though? Won't opening the sunroof create additional drag?

Racechip and DTUK provide boxes that are easy to install, external, and provide very significant increases in torque and hp, at an insanely reasonable price. The systems are easily removed for service as well.

Performance modification

I am leaning toward the racechip option. Do any of you have firsthand experience with this product? What real world performance gains did you experience - MPG, turbo lag reduction, felt performance characteristics?

I see other threads but they offer no actual in-depth discussion or firsthand reports beyond "this chip is awesome" or "my cousin has one and loves it."

Stay away!!

I would not go for the Racechip. It only fools you ECU to think it is short on diesel/gas and injects more fuel.

A friend tested it in his w211 and its not good at all. "Limp home mode" with code
P0251 Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control "A" Malfunction (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
every time he just started the car and got on the road. Same result on every setting.
This you have to erase from ecu, since it does not go away just by turning the engine off. Smokey exhaust, idle is now not smooth at all and so on. He totaly regret this choice, I did warn him but things are as it is. He wanted more power.

IMHO. Stay away, more trouble than its worth. Even if its smal amount for it. And if you engine blows say bye bye to your warranty since the ECU picks upp such thing now days that things have been tampered with. I read that somewhere that the ECU is getting smarer. Especially in a premium car.

Sorry for bad grammar and so on.

Our BTC engine down-pipe is so restrictive that having an ECU tune for more boost and diesel will give you minimal gains.
