All '14 sports I've seen with standard 18" sport wheels (not 18" AMG option) were all non-staggered.
It could be the way the local dealer ordered them. I have to admit that I assumed that the non-amg were staggered on the sport models...

Thanks for showing what wheels are available (again). Which ones go with what configuration? That's the question. Apparently any go with all except 4MATIC.

All the OP wanted to know is if staggered would help handling. I think it does.

see post 26 please

As for handing ...The staggered setup is tuned for "safer" handling where the car naturally under-steers more.
I personally like the non-staggered setup as I drive more aggressively and wants more rear rotation around the corners. Also another benefit of having non-staggered setup allows me to rotate tires to even out the wear.

Most E-classes come with LRR tires either P-zero Nero or ContiProContacts which are great all-season touring tires and handling is just OK. It's rare to see one with summer tire on the dealer lot.

For example: I replaced the tires as soon as I got my car with Bridgestone Potenzas S-04 because the factory ContiProContacts are just too soft and wobbly.

Try different setups on the canyons and skidpads and you'll definitely feel the differences.

Only MBs - the best or nothing

I have the same local dealer and stand by what I said before (IMO assuming and stating as a fact are not the same, hence the heated debate, with those less informed, that followed). Also it was confirmed by the only other '14MY owners of those participating in the thread - instantfob as well as the OP.

Agree with most of stated above. The only exception would be a RWD 550s (which are available only as a 4matic for W212, but not on C207 or C218 for example), where wider tires (even than stock) would be mandatory. For 350s (especially those before 2012 engine boost) - its mostly for looks and actually hinders acceleration a bit.

2015 E-400 4-MATIC - AMG Style package, mine came with staggered setup.

Staggered is for performance - regardless of AWD or RWD. The power ratio in 4-matic sports cars is like 80/20 rear/front so you have more power to the rear wheels in normal conditions, and they can transfer as much as 50% up front when it is needed.

My local MB dealership is selling me AMG staggered wheels to replace my existing non-staggered wheels which got some curbside rash. I just want to know the benefits if any by switching from non-staggered to a staggered wheel set up.
You won't be able to rotate your tires and tires will be more expensive and wear out faster. On an E350 you won't see any sppreciable difference other than visual. Those AMG wheels do look good on my E550 Coupe though.

No that's not true. Sport includes Staggered wheels. Something got switched around in your car it is not a Sport? No offense...

Dislike Staggered

Still being new to the MB world and staggered tires, take my input with a grain of salt. Don't want to insult the performance guys out there, but apparently the staggered tires are for performance. As for me and my family we use our MB GLE 350 as a family vehicle daily driver. For me it's a negative since you cannot rotate the staggered versions and tire warranty is cut in half. Hard to find manufactures of tires that sell front and rear unless you pay the price. That's just me though.
