Question blind spot assistance?

My blind spot assistance seems to randomly flash red-flash-flash-flash, when no cars are next to me. It's the little red triangle in my passenger side outside mirror.
Anybody else have this issue?
I'm assuming it is bad, unless it's some kind of code.
Thanks

On occasions, such things as Jersey barriers, shrubbery, etc., can cause the red lights to flash. Over-reaction in the interest of safety, I'd guess.

Doesn't bother me.

My understanding is that the radar sensors in the car do not see stationary objects unless you travel slow like below 20 mph. If you get alarms with nobody next to you at higher speeds it is a miss reading. I had this issue and two of the four sensors were replaced.

What was the issue exactly? did your sensors turn yellow or red?

When traveling at low speeds around town, both my sensors will turn yellow and stay that way for 20 - 30 seconds without a car in sight. Took it to the dealer, with a video of the problem they did a 4 mile test drive and said everything was normal as usual

Yellow means it is not active, you are on your own. The assist only works above 20 mph.

Don

I've had mine blink at high speeds with my 2010. Took it in for a SW update and the issue went away.

Mine happened maybe once on the previous E where there wasn't anything there. I still look in the spot regardless so it didn't matter to me. It's just a support function that is good to have and better piece of mind.

I get random warnings when I turn...but I think it's from the distance sensor rather than the blind spot indicators. Last night I was driving on an interstate with a concrete center barrier and my drivers light was solid red (don't turn now) which was accurate but distracting.

My issue was actually false collision warnings, i.e. the red triangle flashing and audible beeps. Service said they found error codes and replaced two of the four radar senders/sensors.

At low speeds below 20 mph both mirror triangles should lit up with yellow. This is an indication the parking assistance is looking for a parking spot. They should stay ON at all times at below 20 mph speeds.

There are a couple of specific intersections I frequent that reliably set off that warning. These intersections are not 90° angles...

Is that the blue blinker fluid or the synthetic blinker fluid?

Hype and Oak,

With your last posts on this thread you have lowered yourselves lower than I could ever have imagined, especially you Hype with so many posts you have done. Did that S get in your head?

Oak, you still drive the "low" E550 like I do. Why do you think you can ridicule about the guy asking for help in this forum as you only have a couple hundred posts behind? Hype could do it as he has moved on, which does not justify this stupid behavior, but you don't have the 10 000+ posts to come close. Frankly, I don't know which one of you two is the worst one.

I'm not the moral police here but your posts making fun about someone else who is seeking for help, which is THE VERY REASON FOR THIS FORUM, is just out of line.

This is just my opinion...

Hype. if that S made your head so big just stay in the S forums from now on, please! And based on the posts from you I cannot believe you have any teary eyes for the E you let go either...

sorry Arrie, I was just trying to lighten the mood and fool around, I meant nothing personal to anyone.....my head def isn't big; trust me...........

I didn't even come up with the term: I heard it someplace else, but I do think it's hilarious....maybe OP can mention it to his tech or SA to get/give a laugh for the sake of happiness and laughter; something lacking around every turn these days.......
