Had my car for a week... already have the modding bug. What do you guys think?

Hey guys,

I just purchase the new 2014 E250 Cgi 2 weeks ago. Loving the car so far but can't help myself from putting some personal touches onto the car.

Mods so far are,
Carbon fiber spoiler
Carbon fiber wrapped sideskirts
Carbon fiber wrapped front lip
H&R lowering springs
Plastidipped wheels

Let me know what you guys think!

Here's a pic of my previous ride: a 2007 BMW e92 335i (modded to 437 HP)

Thanks mate.

And yep you're right. I moved to China for work and here they make longer versions of luxury sedans to cater 'chauffeur' needs and the preferred better back passenger legroom.

I like the carbon and the lowered stanced! Maybe look into wheels soon? I always thought that new wheels were better than plastidipped stocks. But looks great so far!

thanks mate. Yeah, I am definitely going to get new wheels. Been looking around but haven't found a set that I particularly like. Plus I am not sure what style I want my car to be. VIP? Sporty? Performance (lightweight)? AMG reps? standard fitment or flush fitment?

Alot of choices and I want to take my time in picking. So for the mean time I thought to myself why not plastidip the stockies for fun, it's cheap and I wanted to see what it looked like with the black and white combo.

Yeah i agree, plastidip definitely cheapens the look of the car. I did it to see what the car would look like with black wheels. Still not sure if i want to go with black amg style rims or Vossens or maybe even BBS LMs

Been thinking about blacking out the whole grill (except for the MB emblem) or getting the amg grill. Not sure how it would turn out.. probably going to wait for others to do it first and post pics up so I can get a better picture. For the mean time I am quite happy with the stock grill as is.

You and me both. I usually get springs and wheels as soon as I buy a car. I just have springs on mine right now. I thought about CF wrapping my front lip as well, but I kind of like he contrast as it is now with the chrome, we'll see though. I've never been a fan of black wheels, so I'm not hot on them.

I feel like there is not many aftermarket parts for our cars yet. Especially mine, which is the 550 coupe. :/

The E class coupe already looks fantastic stock, and imo looks much nicer than the sedan. The whole shape looks more aerodynamic and sportier. It's a shame I didn't get to see one at the dealership until I went there again to take delivery of my car, or else I would of gotten that instead.

But i agree with you on the lip. The contrast of the chrome lip looks great with black, much nicer than with any other color. So If I was you I would leave it as is as well.

I am not a fan of black wheels either to be honest. The whole black on black is overdone and I had it on my old car. But though it might give a nice contrast with a white car.

Here's my old car with black on black:

What color wheels are you thinking of getting?

Yeah, definitely not many aftermarket parts out yet. So far I see grills, quad exhaust conversion and rear spoiler. But atleast yours already came with the amg grill

As for the style, keep in mind that you have the long wheel base version of the car. It is actually a lot longer in person than what you see on paper. I'd love to get the LWB version because I sat in the back seat once and man.. was the legroom spacious.. I would go for the VIP/Sporty style but not too much sporty to keep the VIPness of the car because of its length. I don't know if that actually made sense or not.

Yeah the legroom for the LWB models is surreal. One thing bad about the LWB is that it's 400lbs heavier (i think).

VIP/Sporty? Kinda like your TSWs?

Nice!!! IMO You should wrap the window/door/trunk chrome trims in gloss black to match the CF Trunk spoiler and the blacked out grill you mentioned

The window trim is so annoying to wrap! I've done it atleast 5 times on my old car. My lack of patience always bites me back, I'd do a good job at the start and rush things at the end and always stuff up atleast one part.

My trunk chrome trim has been wrapped already in cf wrap.

Not sure about the grill. I've changed my mind on the black wheels. Thinking of going for a more VIP look. So i might just black out the grill but leave the emblem as is.

What do you think?

They are stock side skirts. I wrapped the middle bit in cf wrap. Maybe that's why you have mistaken it for something else lol

Thanks! It was a quick job and I am planning to redo it. So close ups would be embarrasing :P But yeah, not a bad idea at all ey!

hmm how to explain it, VIP is like a classy/high roller/ stanced with polished or chrome wheels look.
