parking brake - setting on its own??

I just bought a used 2014 e350 with about 10K miles from a local MB dealer.

I have had the car for 5 days, and 2 times when I got in the car the parking brake was set. I got an alarm informing me of that. I never set it and never have on any automatic I have ever owned.

So I trying to figure out what is going on. Is this some electric issue that is setting the brake? Or are there some cases the break gets set automaticly?

Wondering if this something I need to bring up with my dealer or not.

Thanks in advance..

that happens to me on my 2011 a few times a week. It seems to happen if I slightly tap the parking brake pedal when exiting the car.

I, too have noticed that if I barely touch the pedal getting into the car that it will set the warning light.

It has to be a part of design in the system. Nothing to worry about.

The first two weeks of owning my E, I somehow was slightly tapping the brake either getting into or getting out of the car. Just pull the release. After two weeks I no longer hitting the parking brake pedal. The E should have an Electric parking brake, but, they failed to ask my opinion with the design.

Happens to me at least once every week. Like other posters have already said just slightest touch of the parking brake pedal will set the light and the warning. This does not mean the brake really is set as you really have to press on it to set the brakes. Seems an adjustment to the sensor would be needed.

Or an adjustment to lower the height of the pedal. Just an inch or two would make a big difference. That's what she said.

Same on my end, a slight bump of the pedal and the brake will set. I have never had another car as touchy, but it is not a real issue in the grand scheme of things.
