Hood ornament question

The dealer said they could remove it and replace it with the MB emblem (similar to the one already on the grill). Not sure i'd like that.
Anyone have any issues with the ornament on their hood?

I think it was definitely a 80s/90s thing, but I guess it does make me a bit nervous now, but hardly ever think about it. I'd be more concerned with them damaging the paint trying to get it out than the star itself really.
And don't lose sleep over something that may (or may not) happen in future when some jerk happens to be near your car when he feels the urge to steal a shiny ring with three spokes and nobody's watching. I mean..I would worry more about someone driving distracted / drunk / texting and scraping the car than the likelihood of the hood ornament being stolen. Cheers.

I prefer the stand up Star on the hood. It's part of what makes it a Mercedes-Benz.

And I too agree about the hood star being part of what makes a MB a MB. Guess it will be intensive hood/grille swap or lux model for me if I have a 2014+ non-S.
Frankly there are so many Benzes on the road these days that no one cares. The Spirit of Ecstasy on a Rolls Royce may still have some attraction but not the star IMO.
