Digital Speedometer only displays in KM/H?

2010 W212 owner looking to display my speed digitally above "driver assist coffee mug" on my instrument panel but the speed appears to only show KM/H. I know we're German made but is it possible to change this to read MPH?

Before someone chimes in with something sarcastic, I'm vertically challenged and have the steering wheel lowered to the lowest tilt setting so I'm blind to my speedometer between 60-100 mph's. Displaying my speed digitally would allow me not to have to bend down to look at my speed constantly.

Thanks in advance guys!

Did your car come with a manual? Of course you can change the indicator to read MPH.

Yes it did. It's claiming I can only chose between displaying "KM/H" or "Outside temperature". It mentions nothing about changing the KM/H setting to MPH which is why I created this post. Any insight to my stupidity would be overly helpfully, haha.

How is your analog display calibrated ? MPH or KmPH. It should show the same on both. And I believe they are country specific too. Where are you located?

You need to go into the "settings" on the display and change it there. It is in the manual. read further.........

I've spent the last 20 minutes on page 141. See attachment as page 141 simply describes switching from "outside temp" or "KM/H". Unless I'm doing something incorrect I can't seem to make it read MPH.

@Pamiboy- I'm set in "Miles" in my analog.
@Key08- do you currently have your digital speedometer displayed?
PS- I live in Kentucky

my options are also only km/h or oustide temp for the lower display (just above the coffee cup). The mph display that is part of the trip meter function is separate and I think can be toggled between mph and km/h (not sure). Ideally I would like to have mph on the lower display so that I can use the center display for other functions like radio, phone, etc.

Both you guys are drinking too much coffee from the coffee cup. I use my digital display as the default and it is in MPH. You are on the right page in the book. Just toggle between KPH and MPH and press OK to select MPH. What the hell am I missing?

I think we are talking about different parts of the display. Key - I think you are talking about the center display that you can swtich between menus and submenus with. Under the trip menu, you have several options (trip meter, miles to empty, etc.) and one of those is the digital speedo which can be in either miles or km depening on the setting for the car.

Benzster and I are referring to the permanent display which is at the bottom near the coffee cup, drive gear indicator, etc. That one only has two options per the manual:
The
Permanent Display:
function allows
you to choose whether the multifunction
display always shows the outside
temperature or the speed in km/h (USA) or
mph (Canada).

So my USA 2011 E550 only shows km/h in that display, not mph.

Ok, I guess that was what the hell I was missing, then. LOL
I assume this is for those folk who live on the border of USA and Canada that drink too much coffee and can't convert MPH to KPH in their heads.
Carry on.

👍 speaking my language.

PS- converting KM/H is fun on the fly but playing the guessing game while passing a cop on the insterstate isn't something I'm interested in doing...
