Sport package + Comfort Suspension

I've see a couple of 2012's list with the sport package and comfort suspension.
Does this mean that some cars have the same suspension as the luxury but the spoiler package and wheels of the sport package or is the comfort suspension superceded by the sport package and the car has the sport suspension.

See the following listing for a car

Wheel Package
18" AMG Twin 5-Spoke Alloy Wheel
Sport Sedan / Wagon Package
Comfort Suspension
Sport Bodystyling
Appearance Code
Sport Package

No they aren't [edit: misrepresenting the vehicle]. My car is an example. I have a 2012 E550 with luxury/comfort suspension but with the spoiler and and sport everything else.

Explain something to me, I'm confused:

The op's listing says "sport sedan" and "sport package" and then "comfort suspension"

How can you have all three of those things in one car

2010 E350 Luxury Sedan, Engine 272 (V6)
All "E" Class cars are "sports sedans", as are several other cars in the category. Guess the manufacturers are trying to distinquish them from family sedans? However, MB further divides the "E" Class into luxury and sports versions. In 2010, you could get a Sports E or a Luxury E, with the corresponding suspensions. Comfort came on the Luxury.
Maybe they changed it and maybe if you got a 550, you could order comfort suspension. Maybe.
To further confuse, I think they were optional sport packages to dress up the cars.

As I understand, the "Comfort Suspension" means old school steel springs. The alternative to the comfort susp is the air suspension.

As the newb, I could be wrong.

As I understand the comfort suspension is the regular suspension (both steel and airmatic) and the sport suspension is the 10-15mm "lowered" suspension (which is also distinguished by the new grill).

There are 3 suspension options for an E-class (non AMG) in 2012. Comfort, Sport and Airmatic. The 2012 E550 came standard with Sport Suspension and Package (firmer and lower ride height than comfort) and Airmatic was an option. If custom ordering your car, you could have the appearance options of the Sports Package, and then the actual suspension of comfort/luxury. Since many older buyers prefer the softer suspension and additional ride height but still want the V8, both dealers in my area ordered multiple cars with the comfort suspension.

This is the setup of my car. I bought it used and didn't really have a choice.

As you said, you are wrong. Three different options on a 2012: comfort, sport and airmatic. Sport is standard on a 2012 E550 and Airmatic is an option.

Comfort and sport are both steel, but sport has a firmer ride and lower ride height.

Would this also be true for a E3504matic? What you said here appears to be the case for a couple of E3504matics I have seen. Sport package (I assuming appearance group) and comfort suspension.

PS: Grew up in Sixburgh

Don't know how it goes with the 350. I wasn't shopping for those.

PS - Why you leave?

Code 677 "Comfort Suspension" is listed under the Sport Package option on an invoice I'm looking at now. It's a 2015 currently in inventory. I'll ask what it means.

Yes, it's entirely possible that 2012-2013 came with Sport Package & Comfort suspension. My previous 2013 E350BT was so equipped.

However, my 2015 E250BT equipped with Sport Package and Sport suspension actually rides and handles better than my previous 2013 E350BT with 'comfort suspension'. Both cars have/had 18" wheels/tires, but my E250BT has Pirelli PZero Neros and the E350BT had Conti ProContacts. This difference in ride and handling might be attributed to tires ?

Absolutely... stiffness of the sidewall and tire compound can make a marked difference in ride comfort and even body roll.

2008 E320 Bluetec (until 11/14), 2001 SLK 320, 2004 Volvo V70, 1972 MGB, 2013 E350
From Data Card on my 2013 E350 Sport: 677 AVANTGARDE/STANDARD SUSPENSION Yet, on the invoice it is called " Comfort" Suspension which is probably a USA thing. In any case the ride is much firmer with the 18 inch wheels and Contiprocontacs than my 2008 Bluetec with 17's and Tiger Paw Touring tires. I will be looking for a softer tire when the time comes.

The dealer just told me that the 677 code "Comfort Suspension" is a softer suspension than the normal Sport Package would have. I've seen someone also write that that will happen if a "Sport Package" is ordered with 17" wheels.

I think they meant E350 Luxury with sport appearance package. (This is what I have on my car.)

Not so sure. I had a 2010 E Sport Package with 18" AMG with Pirelli PZero Nero, and currently have a 2014 also with Sport Package and 18" AMG Continental ContiProContact. To my knowledge they were the same size staggered tires on both vehicles. The Pirelli is a "summer" tire, while the Conti is an all-season. And to make matters more confusing, the build sheet for the 2010 shows code 677 as Sport Suspension, while the 2014 build sheet lists code 677 as Comfort Suspension.

2015 E400 and 2015 GLK350
This is all very confusing, and I will have to add more confusion to the mix.

My daily driver is a 2015 E400 4Matic sedan. The E400 came "standard" with the sport appearance and suspension packages.

I am currently driving a dealer loaner -- a 2016 E350 4Matic, which has the sport appearance package, including the sport front fascia, the rocker moldings, the trunk spoiler and the 18" AMG wheels, with the same tires I have on the E400 (Conti ProContact).

Although both cars look similar (same body style and trim), the do not ride at all alike. My E400 is lower, rides with a more firm, controlled feel and corners very much flatter than the E350.

From this I can only surmise that the loaner actually does have the sport appearance trim with the luxury suspension. . . or the E400 has different spring rates and shock/bushing firmness to accommodate the extra power.

We have a lot of opinions and anecdotal observations. Does anyone have the build codes and part numbers to clear this up?
