Are all W212 Airmatic strut assemblies the same?

Just got my E550 sport back from the dealer. They replaced both front AM assemblies.

Even in sport mode it sure does feel like the ride is softer than before.

So the question is, for 2011, was AirMatic offered in both luxury and sport configurations?

Lightbulb

EPC shows front struts were replaced several times, current part requires Airmatic software update (up to VIN A215024). Cause may be modification, software update or combination of both. For sure eloastomerc cup (boot) is modified but I doubt this would cause a difference in ride performance.

Thanks for that. My VIN is A267397 so it appears the S/W update doesn't apply.

Do you have access to the most current P/N's? I can reference those against what was installed.

As evidenced by the sticker on both units the supplier is Monroe.

Thanks for the PDF's, but I'm confused.

First shows the "sales designation" as E500. Second shows as E500/550 + 4Matic.

The car is an 2011 E550, non 4Matic. Perhaps the PN's are the same but just want to be certain.

Why were they replaced? Did they fail(leak)?
Do you run higher tire pressure than recommended? Maybe they recalibrated your tire pressures on you and you are feeling that "softness"?

Key,

I recently bought the car and the factory warranty expires in early December. There were a handful of minor issues that I wanted to make sure were taken care of while the warranty is still in effect; headlights, erratic front windows, pano roof gasket, faded wood trim, and what I felt was some unusual clunks from the front suspension, mostly when encountering speed bumps. I also wanted them to go over the entire drive train and suspension in general.

They determined the clunks were the front suspension strut/airbag assemblies.

I had the tire pressure set per the spec's on the door pillar. I haven't checked the TP since I got the car back last evening. Regardless, if the softness isn't just my imagination, I'm certain it isn't related to tire air pressure.
