2012 Mercedes Benz e350 Blue Efficiency
I search and search and cant find anything that talks about what it is in detail. does anyone know what it is and is a 2012 mb e350 with it a good choice to buy as a CPO? Does it take gasoline or diesel?
Thanks in advance
Blue Efficiency is nothing more than a marketing term for a collection of 'tweaks' to optimize fuel economy and minimize emissions. Most MBs had BlueEFFICIENCY fender badging for a 2 or 3 year period between MY10 and MY13.
In short:
BlueTEC = Diesel
BlueEFFICIENCY = Marketing
C-Class BlueEFFICIENCY components, for example:
Now, if it says Bluetec on the back, it's a diesel.
Good CPO car... 2012 is when they started with the new engine (~30 more HP), new instrument cluster, and a few other changes.
I was trying to find one with a few options I was looking for (Distronic, active contour seat) but wasn't able to find one, so I ended up ordering a 2015 E350.

I just got my V8-biturbo badges yesterday to replace the Blue-Efficiency ones with something more honest.
True story. I was at the dealership once (probably in 2012) and asked if they had any bluetech diesels and the salesman tells me they just got in the new CLS Bluetech. I was in disbelief; finally he drove around in a CLS 550 with the Blue-Efficiency badge.

I had planned to deep six the silly "blue eff" badge on my front quarters and go stealth, but swapping it for just "biturbo" (no v8) is intriguing.
One, it's more accurate in my mind.
Two, it's a sneaky re-badge that few would notice.
Three, for those that notice, I think they'd appreciate the cleverness.
How sticky are replacements badges?! Can I trust them to stick "forever?"

The blue-eff badge was easy to remove - in fact it was the easiest I've ever done, and I've removed quite a few. Now the chrome door handles inserts I took off were clearly a different adhesive, and a real PITA to remove.
