Door ajar warning
Does the updated E class has door ajar warning feature? My car doesn't give any indication if one door is accidentally not fully closed. Can't find this feature listed anywhere. Thanks.

I don't know too many cars manufactured today that don't have a warning. Pretty basic.

There should also be a warning for hood warning if not closed fully latched .
May be you must be browsing the sub menu . I don't think MB deleted this feature in FL W212

I did a little test this morning by leaving the passenger rear door not fully closed (i.e. latched so it doesn't open but a little loose). No warning in reverse when pulling out of my driveway a slow speed. After shifting to drive, the warning came on the center cluster with image of rear passenger door open (sorry no pic) after I started driving away. Maybe the car waits a few seconds or until you are going a few mph before it warns you. Not sure of the logic, just know if didn't come on right after shifting from park or right when I started moving.

OK so you are saying the door ajar warning will come only on driving forwards for some time. I was thinking some sign should come up as soon as the door is open even while parked (similar to many other cars)...??? Is this the same with every E class?

I hope MB would make this the same. Does not make sense that you need to drive a little bit before the car gives you the information of the door not being closed properly. For the reverse gear it is kind of ok but as soon as the car is on forward gear in my opinion it should alarm for an open door or trunk lid or hood if there is a warning for the hood.

Yes, the warning did not appears until a few seconds after I was drviing off at a slow speed. Not once I shifted to drive or right when I started to move. Keep in mind I only did one quick test of this. The door was not open - it was latched so you needed to use handle to open but not completely closed.
I have had other cars where the indicator is on whether you are in park, reverse or drive. This one is different, but you still get a warning...eventually.

6mph
6 mph seems to be the point at which the warning for door ajar comes up. This morning I tested it again and took a photo. If you have keyless go, you know that you get a warning when the driver's door is not closed and you shift out of park even before you move. This is only for the driver's door, not the others. Looks like this in my car:
If I start driving the first warning goes away and when I exceed 5 mph I get this warning:
The same 'car with open door' warning will appear for the other three doors too. This happens whether the door is completely open or latched but not completely closed (when you have to use the handle to open) and I exceed 5 mph. The graphic will vary to indicate the location of the door. I cruised a little at 3mph and it didn't come on at all. If I exceeded 5 mph and then slowed to 3 mph, the warning would go away.
Not sure why my 2011 waits to warn me. Does anyone else's act like this?
