Distronic Plus Software Update?

Is there a way to find out what software version my Distronic Plus (2014 E350) is running and how can I find out about software updates?

At high speeds my Steering always goes to the right and doesn't stay centered. Was hoping at some point Mercedes would have an update to improve or fix this issue. BTW, when I first got the car over a year ago I had the dealer recalibrate the Disctronic Plus and there was no improvement.

Thanks.

Can you please clarify "high speeds" - are we talking normal highway speeds of 55-70MPH, or well in excess of that? At high speeds, DTR+ with Steering Assist relies very heavily on the SMPC. It's possible that one of the cameras in the SMPC is not calibrated (separate from normalizing the Distronic Plus radars), is not pointed correctly (could definitely cause those issues), or is not working properly.

I've personally noticed that DTR+ with Steering Assist will shimmy back and forth a little, as it is a steering assistant, not designed to fully control the car on its own and keep it perfectly centered - that being said, it *is* possible to let DTR+ with Steering Assist drive the car for you on the highway for some periods of time. The Steering Assist component probably could be set to keep the car perfectly centered, but it would probably be too intrusive to the driver that still wants to have some form of control over the steering inputs.

Talking about 65-70 MPH. At this speed my car tends to track to the right lane marker and then once it gets close it moves left back towards center and repeat doing a bit of a weave. It never really tracks center of the lane at high speeds which you would think is possible.

I did have my Distronic + Calibrated by my dealer and there was no improvement. This was over a year ago and since this feature was not released too long ago I was hoping that over the past year Mercedes would have improved the software for lane tracking, etc.

Is there a way to view the version of software my Distronic + is running and find out if there is a newer version available?

Sounds more like Land Keeping Assist instead of Distronic/Plus.

Nope Lane Keep Assist is so you don't drive off the road and it will brake to pull you back in your lane. Distronic + Steers your car, Brakes, accelerates, etc.

Then perhaps it is not the software but something mechanical. Alignment, tires, or something else. I am sure they can tell you what version you have and whether it can be updated or not.

I have no issues with mine.

OH! I love DISTRONIC, and lane-keeping, in my 2011 550! But are you saying the new cars actually assert steering input as they wish? Can you turn that single feature off? I wouldn't buy a car that did that.

My car is exhibiting the same exact problem; took it to dealer and had SA test drive with me, he witnessed the issue for himself, but as usual the techs are stumped. Did you get closure/resolution to your issue?

Do you have your windows tinted? If so what kind of material was used? I ask that because when I had my windows tinted, the installer recommended against my initial material choice because of interference with the 'guidance systems', so I went with his choice and have not had any problems.

Yeah I do have them tinted, but not sure how window tint (interior) would have anything to do with radar/cameras (exterior). I could see it interfering with XM radio or Keyless Go perhaps, but Distronic/Steering Assist?
Alas, it had this problem before I tinted the windows. I'm just now having time to dive into the issues with the dealership.

My windows are not tinted and are factory.
