Redline is bad for our cars?
snooping around and I found a thread about how
redlining a C63 is bad. I was thinking, those guys have a handbuilt 6.2 liter v8 and if they are saying that redlining their own engine is bad, what hope does my 5.5 liter non AMG engine have? I drive my E550 to redline like once a month, just to hear the big girl sing, but reading that thread has really made me think twice about redlining. What's your guys opinion on redlining our cars? Love to hear your input!

Seriously, the tranny shifts up to protect the engine. Just don't hold it in gear at high rpm for no reason. Did this other thread share any insight into why it was bad?

There is just so much quiet power in a 2011 E550, I can't think of a reason I would want to red-line it. You might pick up an extra 0.1 sec in a 0 to 60 --- for what purpose?
Just make sure you change the oil on schedule.

These cars were built to be driven on autobahn speeds for long periods. Just enjoy doing it!!
