window tinting & car starter quotes
I've called around a few places and got some quotes on a car starter and a smart start (phone app), are these inline with the rest of the folks on here?
Starter $1000 & $1200
smart start - $200
window tinting $250 & $280

Holy **** on the remote starter prices. It's been a long time since I dealt with remote starts (and another state) but in Michigan we charged no more than $400 or so including installation. There were no smart phone apps at that point so maybe that's the difference (or maybe because its a Mercedes it's different) but $1000+ sounds absolutely ridiculous.

Sounds about right on both the starter and tint.
CC16177 remote starts cost so much because of the smart-key. My 2006 W211 cost over $800. I had one put in my E550 in Nov and it was $1200 (some additional cost due to key-less go and installed at a dealer vs. mobile installer). Smartphone control adds a few hundred more.

Not sure where your located got the windows tinted for $115 (socal) with the top for the windshield. They just ovelayed the original MB (blue) tint only downside is 3yr warranty no lifetime. Maybe your quote was for ceramic?

I did my own tint, took me about 3 hours, llumar film. Came out really nice. But I know not everyone can do that, and have the time and the skill, so its better to take it to a professional, $200 is fine but $250 is a little too high.
Why remote starts are so pricy?! is because people got smart now, if you can afford a expensive car like that, that means you can pay a grand for a starter, that's all it is to it. just like gas it use to be 10c diff between 87,89,93 but now its 30c diff. if you can afford a expensive car u can afford to pay more for gas now. Like I have a work van, its a Ford E250 I got a quote for a starter $300 I bought a starter on ebay $50 and took me hour to install. Just checked for a starter on ebay for e350 it is $620 for a little box and few wires. Its just straight up ripping people off, especially when that starter made in china. Sorry guys but I had to get it off my chest

I can't remember the name of the company right now but someone makes a module or program which turns your remote panic button into a remote start for about $500. Or you can subscribe to embrace and use the app. I think I would be weary of splicing in just any third-party remote start on this car.
