i dont think the numbers were that high when they first came out with their tune

This is the highest tuning result I have ever seen.
But what about stress out the engine ?

Tuners update their tunes as they learn more. Some keep track (for instance Eurocharged is on version 5 for the M156). The M278 requires a bench tune (vs an OBD tune) so the ecu has to be pulled and modified. Weistec claims 540hp/616ftlb so those numbers are in the ballpark. Better downpipes / catless setup and you could get a few more. Wringing out the last few ponies at the expense of the engine isn't good. I'd be sure to go with a trusted tuner with a sterling reputation. Cocobeex who tuned your E, and are you happy with it?

But, i am always seeking out more power.
Also, looking into Downpipe, but so far, dont know which one to go with.
I might give AMS a try if they really hits that high HP/TQ.

Given this motor has a higher factory rating in the S550, I'm not too surprised.
Has anybody fixed the transmission programming yet? I'd love a faster car but the transmission wants to save gas (5th gear at 25mph?? Blah).

OP, did you end up going with AMS for your tune?
I had it narrowed down to Renntech & EC, but I was on AMS' website last week & saw their numbers. Unfortunately they aren't as big in the MB nation as they are in the GT-R world. Hard to find a lot of info about their tune on the 550s.

That number is astounding considering that all the other tuners are around 605-615. I just can't find anyone that's running an Alpha tune on a 4.6. I contacted them & they don't have any video or other feedback to give me other than the website numbers. I wanna see numbers from someone other than themselves. If I can't find it I'll probably end up running the Renntech. Besides, someone in another thread told me that they're just numbers & w/o outside "proof" they're just that. So we'll see. Hopefully I can find some info. Some tuners act as if it's not a 63 they're not that interested.
