2018 E class total redesign?
Has anyone heard if this is the year of the total redesign from top to bottom of the E class sedan line up?
If so, I may wait to see what happens. It would be out in the summer of 2017.

Not sure I am thrilled with the rear end. The lines from the side look good. Can't tell much as there is no good shot from the front end. I still love the look of the front and rear end of my MY '10 E350 sport P2. I will keep this car till the extended warranty expires. Maybe beyond if it remains trouble free. I really don't look forward to replacing it.

Still does not knock my socks off. I still like the look of the MY '10. the 2010 looks like it is going fast just sitting there. This car looks like it is coming to a stop. Perhaps that's when the picts were shot.

Bring back the standing star.
While it's got similarities to the smaller C, these pics make the new E look substantially larger than that Merc. This looks "right sized" to me.
For selfish (and financial) reasons, I'm happy that the new E's ext doesn't took too far off the current gen E. As for the new int, argh! It looks world's better than the current E's comparatively plain (traditional?) design.

I did not see pictures of the interior. That would be interesting. I think MB took a serious downturn in the interior of the E after MY 2011. After having been given brand new E's for loaners, nothing makes me want to replace the one I have.

Ummm. . . I may be biased (really?), but I still prefer the W212 FL cars to that "update." The exterior looks plain to me, but maybe they will spice it up prior to launch. The interior? I've seen more luxurious looking interiors on trucks.
That's my opinion, and since it is mine, it is worth TWICE what you've paid for it. . .

W213 sedan
To my eyes, the current W212 Sport version has a much more distinctive and dynamic appearance than the W213 shown in the photos above. For example, the on coming look of the W212 with its full LED lighting cannot be mistaken for any other car on the road. I find I can spot one almost a block away as it approaches. By far the great majority of W212 (MY2014+) seen in the Vancouver area are equipped with the full LED package.
The new car looks like a slightly larger version of the C Class (W205). Hard to believe that this kind of all-too similar styling will result in increased sales for the E Class. However, since I am a minor shareholder of Daimler, I hope my negative assessment proves to be wrong !

Based on the past experience, anyone have any speculation for how quickly the coupe would show up? Does it launch the same time as the sedan? Or does it show up later?
One article mentioned that it may be 2 years after the initial launch, but that doesn't seem to make sense to be selling the coupe on the old platform while trying to push the sedan on the new platform.
Thanks

It will probably be released a year after the sedan similar to the S coupe and the C coupe.

Our dealer advises that we can order a new design 2017 E350 4M Coupe in late spring/early summer of 2016. I have read that MB is launching them at the 2016 International Auto Show circuit.
The technology will be new and over all length is reported to increase. One description is the the entirely new E for 2017 is the E version of the S Class. Looking forward to seeing what is delivered. Price point is projected to be similar to current E Class.
