In my experience it's the opposite way here or the beamer forum. The more expensive the car is the more douche-ery the goes on. I've never had an issue with young people acting....young. It's when old guys name drop and assume everyone considers them King because they're nearing retirement and can afford a nice car. My thing is you should be able to at that point. It's like me bragging to some snot nose kid just out of college. All things being equal I should have done a few things that they haven't. I tend to have more lenient views when it comes to younger folks (29- below)
To add I'm not talking about outright being rude or disrespectful stuff.

Seriously, best comment? And did some of you read the entire thread before making comments about maturity issues among bmw owners? My friends, please pick up a bimmer and you get the best of both worlds.
In terms of the eco mode, I'm not so sure that it's just a push of a button because getting in and out of the car on a given day could become annoying, that's if you are a complete anti-eco person of course. Also, I live in an area where there are stop signs at almost every intersection, especially 2 way stops where you have to inch up and then proceed when clear. So I really understand the frustration. But you have to understand, we are talking about an E class 4 door sedan where most of your parents if not grandparents probably own one. I personally have no problems hitting the switch whenever I see green, because I'm just that way when it comes to cars. Hell, if only it was like a cockpit, I'd probably be happier. But a lot of times, older folks such like my parents prefer the convenience of a classic Mercedes where things are not so complicating to them. But of course, each to their own.

Someone asked a similar question right after me so it wasn't clear to everyone.
heres the initial post from OP...
"Just bought a new E350 last Sunday. The salesperson never mentioned about this new eco feature and I don't like what it does. Not to brag either, but I consider myself a little more than just a backyard mechanic, and I know this can't be good for the car in the long run. Prior to test driving it, I was told to push on a few buttons underneath the screen and I bet one of the buttons were to disable eco mode. So while driving it, everything seemed just fine, car never shuts off at a stop, beautiful ride. After the deal fall through, I drive the car home and notice the start/stop feature, Stupid! I've always thought what idiots would allow this feature, defaults at every start of the car, to be apart of a nice and rather expensive ride? I laugh every time they pull up next to me at a stop and it shuts off. I forgot to mention, creeping into my garage on a slight incline just breaks my heart. So I call the guy and he says that it'll save you 30% each time you fill up. I responded by saying it looks more like a 30% reduction in the lifespan of the car! They must have ran out technology or something, is that even possible? But unless they have an option to reverse the default, I'm bringing this thing back to the stealership. UNBELIEVABLE!"

He said " But unless they have an option to reverse the default . . ."
He was asking if such a thing exists. Also, just be virtue of the post, he was just curious if others shared his frustration.
