+1 I know, I just wanted to hear peoples thoughts on the W212 facelift. Where exactly did it go?

I got my first Benz back in 2010.....a W212 and man was it nice......there wasn't anything else on the road (IMO)that had such a presence......the headlamps, the sharp lines, the DRL's shaped like the hockey sticks.......that was a great design, I mean, come on! look at it!

Quote: I see one guy who has one and he takes the same way I do to work. I love the look of it but it seems like it's small in the back seat area when compared to the E or S550? I have a couple more years before my son heads to college so I want to make sure he can at least reasonably fit in the back along with my smaller two. I have to take a look inside of one of them since I never have.
The CLS has less head room than the E class, leg room is about the same. My son is almost 6 feet tall and he fits fine back there, even on long trips. If you have three kids in the house, the CLS is not for you, the back seat only seats two.

Yeah I need space for the 3 of my lil boogers. Even in my E he has a tough time fitting comfortably. Head space and waist space he is fine but he wears a size 14-15 sneaker so he has a difficult time getting his feet in and out without scuffing stuff up. On top of that he's an amputee so his prosthesis is a headache to angle in and out with such big feet.

I agree with the majority of sentiment in this thread. The 2010-2013 E class just look FANNNtastic. I am not a fan at all of the face-lift, and it seems to just be getting worse.

I have 2011 E550 and thought the car looked amazing when it came out. It had the stance, presence, and looked like an E63.

I guess Mercedes made it too good looking and it affected their E63 sales, so they purposely made it ugly to balance their sales between E63 and E550. They got rid of E550 too and replaced with an E400.

They are going down in their design route. I'm not even bothering replacing my E550 with their new upcoming E class which is just another larger C-class. Only has the Audi A6 progressed in their design with their 2016 refresh.

Lighten up Francis. Nobody thinks that car is ugly. Some like the facelift but better but nobody thinks the car is ugly.

The A6's interior looks smooth and well refined. Although I've never been interested in their exterior design.

Some of the Audi's (specifically the A8) hung on to that past design for quite some time. I guess Audi followed the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" saying. Which isn't a bad thing if it makes them profits at the end of the day.

If I could, I would like to modify this threads name, I feel the original name is too standoffish:

not having owned a model since 2014, I haven't had the time to study the new design, I do like the headlamps with the upgraded lighting package.....kind of boring otherwise....
I even liked the front end better than the AMG W212 I had
