2014 e250 with over 12000 miles
It is running best ever, smooth, over 51 miles on highway driving and no problems whatsoever so far. I can't tell it is 4 banger sitting under hood.

I currently have 47,300 miles on my '14 E250. About ready for the factory warranty to run out. I did purchase an additional 75k/7year MB warranty. About ready to take the E in for a pre checkup before the 50k warranty runs out, since the additional MB warranty is not quite a bumper to bumper warranty.
So far, I am loving the mileage factor, I been tracking the mileage since day one, using the gallons vs mileage to figure out the overall mileage, today the E250 has average 40.3 mpg since the day it rolled off the lot. I seen a tank full mileage of 34.77 mpg, and high of 46.18 mpg. I seen on the computer of over 64 mpg once with about 350 miles traveled, mostly slow and downhill in the Rocky's. Normal for me to see 52-54 mpg on the computer on commuting home trips. Going to work through, only 44-48 mpg. A commute for me is 60 miles one way trip with 52 of them on interstates running 73-80 mph. But for my E, the computer is optimistic.
No major issues since new. I did have a parking brake lamp on issue, which turn out to be a warranty replacement of a relay. Overall, a real pleasure to own and drive.

I should of mention, one of the aspect I like to do is to compute the mileage gone vs. estimated mileage left in the tank. It is not uncommon at all for me to see the total miles over 1100. Of course I never expect to see that sort of range. I have seen at times over 1250.
One of the things I remember, right before I purchased the E250, was a MB ad of mileage range of 945 miles per tank. Of course that is before MB and EPA down graded the EPA mileage from 45 to 42 on a E250 RWD, which I have.

Does the car get better mileage once its broken in? At what point is a diesel broken in?
Have you paid attention to how you drive to get the best mileage? Any hints about driving style with this car to improve mileage?
I have a 2015 with a 4 thousand miles on it. So far I'm averaging in the low 40s blended (but skewed toward interstate).

No, I have always followed what computer says. I had Service A and B so far. Not sure but maybe my car is breaking in now after 18,000 miles. My computer computation is pretty accurate, no need to use my calculator.
