M278 High Flow Induction System

The UPD cold air boost kit is a simple and clean bolt on kit to add instant horsepower by increasing air flow into the engine by over 30%. The UPD (CABK) eliminates the restrictive air box inlet design with the oem air box and filters by raising the air filters up out of the inlet. The restrictive directly under the air filters is also improved by up to 50%, so more air can flow under and across the filter. Our kit allows for maintaining a stock engine bay look but with cold air intake power flow gains! The UPD CABK comes complete high flow, re-usable air filters, high quality aluminum brackets, spacers and special stainless steel German made hardware to bolt all engine covers and air filter box in a seamless kit. Our kit is designed and tested to work with our custom high flow air filters d 20 to 25 hp gains are attainable by adding the UPD Cold Air boost kit. All air boost lift brackets come in a blood red anodized color but customers are able to paint over this for additional custom looks and colors.

Price is 450 plus shipping

This looks like a decent mod! Have you done back to back dyno testing on and off with stock filter and yours using the spacers?

I'd be curious to see the whole run, not just the peak numbers. If it works it should be a hot seller!

I completely agree with you. Hell, send me a set and I will dyno it before and after at my buddy's shop and video the whole thing. If it makes the power you claim I will buy it and advocate for you. That's a lot of power just for intake which most dynos prove don't make as much power as claimed.

Don't get me wrong, I see no reason to doubt their numbers and Shardul is definitely reputable, just that picking one spot on the run and claiming that as a win isn't the best way to do things, IMO. I'd like to see consistent gains across the RPM range.

This is exactly why I have not pulled the trigger.

I would be interested for my N/A E550 V8 engine. Would this work or only for the V8 bi-turbo?

Dynos and fans cant accurately account for air coming at speed over 60+. Once on the freeway you can feel car has access to the new found air.

M278 have all the down low power.. If this mod just opened up top end it would be worth it. However i can feel the power band more useable across the rpm range.

My c400 has same problem. Tiny airboxes and restricted flow. As MB wanted to choke the engines output.

Do you have the application for 2010 E550 w212 N/A engine? If so I may pick one up.

So, anything in regards to the availability/fitment for the naturally aspirated V8 engines? The lack of it being addressed after being asked twice seems like it isn't available. I have a 2011 E550 convertible. Curious to know if I could get one in my convertible.

More interested in the air flow then just pure horsepower gain. No disrespect to OP but I have never seen a filter alone add that much HP. I will be watching this very closely as this is something I will be looking to get down the road.

Darn none for N/A engines. Any plans in making one in the future?
