Bittersweet goodbye MBWorld...hello 2016 Lexus IS350-F
Thanks to everyone on this board as you helped me solve so many minor and major issues along my 4 year journey.
2 days old and my new love has already been treated to tint and an upgraded cat-back. She'll never have the power of MB's infamous 550 or AMG but damn she scoots and roars like a true sports sedan!!!!

Day 2 (tint & cat-back)

Next project is smoking the exterior lights and black wrap the chrome trimmings...

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

1. Loved my Benz, it was my affordable dream car for years
2. I drive 25k miles a year & needed a stronger 100k warranty
3. I never said I "stepped up". In fact, this "premium Toyota" is exactly what I needed for me & merely a "step in the right direction" from my 2010 E.

I can't say I'm totally thrilled with the direction that TMC has gone with style lately. My wife has been shopping for a new car for a little bit and we looked at Lexus and that spindle grill design as they call it didn't do anything for me. I tried to see if she would go with a MB or Audi but new they were just too expensive and since she does home health in some less than desirable neighborhoods, she felt that a three pointed star would make her too much of a target. So yesterday we drove the new Genesis (nice car, not a benz, but much better than the previous model and not nearly as chintzy on the inside) but ended up with an Avalon hybrid for about the same money.
The lines from the side are nice enough, but that grill, oh well, its her car, and it is really quiet on the highway. Enjoy the new ride.
I had 3 Lexus before, some not as reliable as others, but one thing they all have in common, they are not as well build as Mercedes. The current Lexus grille is one of the uglist design on the market now in my opinion, not sure what the Lexus designers were thinking of when they design that thing. Going from a E class to an IS, its almost like downgrading 3 model lines. The overall quality of the IS, interior and exterior, is one level below the C class. Good luck with your IS, it should last you for years, if you can stand driving it for that long
Congrats on the new ride
