Seat stitching coming apart.
Anyone else try to get this covered under warranty? I'm still under carmax warranty and mbusa won't do anything about it even though its a known problem.

I'm not under factory warranty. I have 40k miles but its a 2010. And carmax warranty is the best on the market. Its just that fabric and paint isn't covered as those are wear and tear items. Even though its coming apart at the seams. I'm getting rid of this car altogether.

I got it covered outside of factory warranty.
1) loyal service at my dealer.
2) under ELW
The MB customer care person told me, that because I regularly take care of my car at my dealer they would offer a good will.

Unless you just bought the car from CarMax and are under their 5 day return or 30 day warranty period, I doubt they will do anything for you since their extended warranty doesn't cover it. I got them to cover some minor trim stuff (not the faded wood) during the 30 days.

Getting the seat fixed will cost you far less amount than the amount you'll lose on trading the car. Are there any other reasons for which you want to sell the car, or you simply are tired of this one?
I get that you want a car which has a valid warranty.
You want to know which is the best used car........ your own car.

^ The truth. Grass is greener with used autos usually means trading off current problems for a whole set of new ones.

Same problem here with a rip in the driver's seat stitching on my E with 46k. My CPO warranty would not cover it of course. The Mb Tex seems to be awful stuff. It looks/feels cheap. I won't buy another car with it. It's a shame because the interior is so nice otherwise
