I believe you can turn audible alarm on or off in the setting menu.

press and HOLD

1. do you have the power close button/option in the trunk?
2. If you do, then you need to press and HOLD it down until the trunk is closed. Not just press and let go.

BTW-
I am not judging. But as I am reading this thread, I can't help but feeling we're complaining about some truly "non-essential" things! :-)
seriously not jabbing at anyone, but remember the days you had to reach over and use your arms and fingers to pull the door lock pins up? (I am not THAT old...) whether it's the passenger door, or passenger rear door or turn around the other way to pull up driver side rear door? and shut car off and walk outside raining or not and unlock the trunk?

Now I feel like we're the people in "The Jerk" complaining to Steve Martin that the leather seats needed to be reupholstered in our private jets.

Since the door auto locks itself when it's in drive, more than one occasions when I pick up my wife on the sidewalk of some store, she reaches and tries to open the door and if it's locked (because of the auto lock) she begins (I am sure many others are guilty of the same thing) knocking on the window with her knuckles like she is being inconvenienced for less than 2 seconds...

What the hell happened to us? :-)

Ha, yeah. The first widespread use of the remote keyless entry system for the automobile was 1989. I personally cannot wait until we have the driver-less car, so I can stop thinking all together. Lol

If pulling the pins is your thing you can always pull the fuse for the locking system. It turns it all manual...he..he...

But it is all called progression, or development, or improvement...

Red face Help Code 893 only 2015 c300

Hello All,

I have recently purchased a 2015 Mercedes c300 4 matic, and on the data sheet it only says code 893 Keyless start but the dealer has only given me a key to start the vehicle. I understand the difference between Key Less go and Key less start but my question is can i just buy a aftermarket button from Amazon and plug it in to make my vehicle keyless start or do i have to have the key less go option as well?

This is the W212 forum which covers the E class from 2010-2016. Those only had keyless go or not. No keyless start. But for keyless go, if you had the option, you could just get the button and put it in the the ignition and it would work. Lots of times that button gets stolen when it's on the dealer lot or they take it for safe keeping and they never put it back. That's probably why there's so many of them on eBay for $15+.
