I like service reminders , it was popping up saying B5 Service within 20 Days , just after 5 days that heed dropped to 10 days ,it skips 5 days all of sudden and following 5 days only after 3 days ,it says B5 Service Due
I don't know what parameters the system is receiving from the car but somehow manages to draw your attention

 

I've noticed sudden date jumps also but figured it was an approximation and maybe I noticed it later in the cycle. I do like the soft reminder at startup as it gets closer.

 

What exactly is a B5 Service? I've yet to see that one. I've only seen A or B service so far.

Mine only shows A or B due.

 

I've read on other threads that the number corresponds to the number of services the car has had. So this could be the 5th service overall, or it would be the 5th B service (10th service overall). Haven't research it myself.

I know on a Honda the number actually means something like tire rotation or ATF service. But with MB, I think it's just a counter.

I just got a "B1 Service" due in 1,100 miles.

My car has almost 60,000 miles on it.

 

Guys, this is getting more intrusive than ever but can't say I dislike it
Today though I finally dropped it off to the dealer

 

Let us know what they say the 5 is for.

 

B5 includes tranny service which means they had to replace transmission oil and tranny filter in addition to what they perform in annual maintenance .

 

It's because you are on metric time and not standard
