Used 2014 90k miles no warranty
Also considering aftermarket warranty for big ticket items so any recommendations are appreciated.
First thing I would demand to see is ALL the maintenance records on the vehicle. No records, no purchase.
Second is to verify the vehicle wasn't involved in any accidents and then repaired. If it was in an accident, then what was the level of damage?
Third is to have the vehicle thoroughly gone over by a mechanic who knows MB cars. That's a lot of mileage in a short amount of time, so you want to know what will need maintenance soon and if it looks like the previous owner neglected to keep the vehicle up. There are good indy shops out there, if you don't want to have a MB dealership give it the once over. Don't take it to some indy shop that has no experience with German cars or any specific knowledge of MB cars trying to save yourself a few bucks. Better to find out now whether the car is worth buying than buying the car and finding out you've bought a money pit.
Generally speaking W212 vehicles are good vehicles. Best of luck to you if the vehicle checks out.
i'd check to see if the car was part of a fleet program or if all regular maintenance was performed, if that was done i'd think the engine, the transmission and drive train all should be in good shape. what i'd have it it inspected for would be for other wear items such as brakes, any bushings, suspension. it's a heavy car with a lot of accelerated wear and you should be looking at that.
unless you really want a wagon, which is already ~10k premium on a sedan, you could be looking at a CPO'ed sedan same year and easily half the miles for the same price. i'd also think the car with that many miles should be about 70-80% of the price of normal mileage, which i think equals more than 10-12K.

That's a typo. The picture showing the speedo says 26953. That would be funny as hell if it wasn't a typo though ha ha

And yes, I am looking for a wagon and am aware that there is a premium over sedans. Seems like it is a toss up based on my appetite for risk. Leaning towards passing on this one. Thanks again all.

About the mileage I can say that as it is so high for only a couple years of driving it must be very much highway. This means that the engine mileage is only about 1/3 of the mileage on the odometer compared to city driven car. Transmission has seen all the miles though but I would not be worried about the tranny.
The car is very new and could be a very good buy.
If it is a dealer selling it why don't they CPO it? They now offer warranty for unlimited mileage for CPO cars.

The only thing I would be concerned about is the price

I feel the same about the highway miles. The car bounced from VT to NY to TN, at least according to the Carfax service records. What concerns should I have about suspension and steering linkage? Are control arm bushings, power steering racks, CV joints, etc fairly robust on the mercs?
I appreciate all the responses. Great forum and source of info here!

This vehicle could have been used for commercial business purposes, which would account for the high mileage in so little time. So that means it might not have been taken care of that well or treated as well as one takes care of their own personal vehicles. Just minimal required maintenance and nothing more. Commercially used vehicles are rarely as well cared for as one's personal vehicles.
If the dealer selling this car won't allow you to have this car looked over by an indy shop or MB dealer of your choosing, then walk away. Remember, just because the price may be low doesn't mean repair and maintenance costs are based on the current value of the car. OEM parts are still based on the original sticker price of the vehicle.
