Seat belt spooks me

What I'm talking about is the slight retraction of the seat belt when I first put it on. I've had the feature on initially, then turned it off because I just feel creeped out by it. I tried is again recently and I still don't like it.

Anyone else get spooked by it?

That's the pretensioner, it takes up the slack so the belt is snug. I don't even notice it any more.

I love it. It reminds me that I'm driving an MB and not a regular car. I'm sure some other cars do have this feature, not sure which ones though.

I'm a stickler for making people put on their seatbelt "Safety First" so they always react weird the first time it grips them up.

How do you turn it off?

I like it but annoys me sometimes because my pattern of getting in the car and taking my cell out of my breast pocket sometimes causes me to get my hand caught up

I hate feeling any sort of pressure against my chest as it reminds me of when I had a heart attack.

***** pressing against my chest is ok though

It only bothers me when I am leaning forward when putting the belt on. But that's not the cars fault.

It's in the LCD / LED screen inside the speedo... might be the "vehicle" settings.

The tug on the E class is not too bad, in the CLS, it really pulls you in like a race car harness.
