Typical oil consumption?

What are owners seeing as typical oil consumption on the V6 direct injection engine?

Much appreciated

I usually have to add 2 quarts between changes. But we do have different engines.

I've seen 0 oil consumption over 3 years and 20k miles. I always check the oil level before taking it in for service, and again after getting it back from service. It's always at the full mark.
Oil also stays surprising clean after 7k miles.

I had a previous car that consumed as much as 1qt every 400 miles. (VW/Audi 2.0FSI)

I asked because now with about 2400 miles since my purchased of a 2012 CPO, I added a bit of oil (Mobil 1 0W40), but admittedly, I never checked the oil level before.

On the other hand, my V6 Honda easily takes a quart of oil every 800-1000 miles. Always has since new.

Thanks all

Interesting, on my 2010 I never add oil and only change it annually.

My oil gets changed every 10000 miles at the dealer service and I change it at every 5000 miles between. I check oil level every time I fill up and so far has not seen any oil loss. My car has 113000 miles on it.

We're almost neck and neck since I have roughly 113k on my car as well. During my last Service A, I was advised that I did lose some oil, I'm not exactly sure how much. I was told that I shouldn't be concerned at all.

My driving is 85 - 90% highway so my engine has only about 40 - 45 kmiles on it comparing to some city drivers. Anyway, oil consumption is a sign of failing piston rings and some posters about the oil consumption have a real issue in their hand...

The bulk of my driving is highway as well but I'd say more in the 70% range. They(MB) mentioned there was a leak at the back of the engine housing but it was an insignificant amount. Leading me to believe that a portion of the oil that was lost was burned off so to speak. I don't have another service for about 6k miles. I'll be keeping in eye on it.

I have a friend with an ML63 and he says it burns a bunch of oil and confirmed it was ok to do so with MB since his is under warranty still.

I drive my 2011 W212 mostly on local roads to and from work and have never a need to add oil...I also change my oil as indicated which is usually on an annual basis.

Mine is a 2011 E-350 Bluetec diesel, the 3.0 OM642 engine.

I have 98,000 miles on it, and am about to do a 700 mile round trip, so I checked the oil yesterday since I am 8000 miles past my last oil change.

ZERO oil consumed.

Gotta like that.
