Hi, gang! It's been about a month, if not a little more, since I was regularly on this site (or any other site, for that matter). Lots to catch up on, for sure- but I figured I'd start off with a fresh September Summer sale item for a Mercedes that doesn't get enough love: the NA E550!
The M273-engined W212 chassis Mercedes-Benz E550 hasn’t gotten a lot of attention since the twin-turbocharged M278 arrived on the scene. With 382 HP from the factory and an easy 155 MPH top speed, however, the naturally-aspirated 5.5 liter W212s are still an excellent, everyday performance car value. Now, thanks to Speedriven and more than forty extra horsepower, the naturally-aspirated E just got a whole lot better!
Thanks to SD’s advanced ECU software tuning and high-flow, stainless steel exhaust system, the naturally-aspirated E550 delivers up to 425 HP and 420 lb-ft of torque on 93 octane premium gas. “We’ve become a little bit jaded talking about 1000 HP Mercedes CLs and 9-second Audis over the last few years,” explains Speedriven’s Jo Borras. “You have to remember, though, this is a 425 HP daily driver- that’s more power than a first-gen Viper made with an 8.0 liter V10!”
In addition to more horsepower, torque, and an unrestricted top speed of more than 180 MPH, Speedriven’s ECU software tune gives the E550 a snappier, more responsive throttle that’s also aided by the lightweight sport mufflers’ 3″ diameter tubing. That new exhaust system also helps the E550 sound better than ever, with a deep, aggressive V8-rumble that somehow eluded the stock E.
“It still sounds like a Mercedes,” says Jo. “Except now it sounds like the fast, sporty, V8 Mercedes it was always supposed to be.”

Custom made longtubes and a 3" setup for sure.... i strictly want WOT power as i live in the city and can only drive speedy on the freeway.... low to midrange torque is irrelevant where i'm located.
interesting. I see this tune and it's 900$. What sets speedriven apart from other manufactures that re-flash with almost identical number gains at half the price?
