Maybe he has a long commute?
I used to do 50k+ miles a year. I love to drive and it was cheaper paying for car/maintenance/gas then it was to get a place near work.

I have a 15 Bluetec, I am not concerned about the engine or drive line. Just all the electronics, bells and whistles. My 05 CDI not an issue at 225,000

The 05 was the classic I6, Cast Iron block alum head. The I4 in the 250 is also a cast iron block - alum head. The V6 bluetec is all alum I believe. Not that one is better that the other but hard to beat iron in high compression and vibration. BTW anyone notice the high-tech engine mounts on the E250? Look on the driver side. These are serious vibration stoppers.
