Started Receiving Sirius Service All of a Sudden
So rolling around in the E350 and randomly hit the Sat button on the radio and low and behold, actually getting Sirius service. Don’t have a subscription and way past the trial period so not sure if this is some random preview promotional thing or something else.
Anyone else getting Sirius service all of a sudden without a subscription?

It's free for 2 weeks til Nov 29th.
http://www.siriusxm.com/sxmlp416d?sx...+sirius++radio
Also if you never activated your account, after the 29th, you can get 2 free months just by filling in this form:
https://care.siriusxm.com/preownedve...al_view.action
And once that expires, they normally have some promo where you can get the select package for $25 for 6 months. Some people have been doing it for years, you just have to call every 6 months and tell them you're going to cancel unless you get the $25 for 6 months again and they'll give it to you every time.

Have had it free with two vehicles and then a couple of free trials. Never have liked it enough to subscribe to it. Also, noticed that sometimes they have lots of talk on what are supposed to be music stations.

I noticed I was getting traffic updates yesterday (which is served via Sirius), so probably just a promotion to get people to enjoy it in time for some loved one to buy a subscription for them for Christmas.

I got an e-mail for 2 months free about a half a year ago and went for it. I got use to it and saw a 6 months for $25 deal come in my e-mail right when trial was over. So I just extended it. I use it every couple of days or so especially when I get sick of listening to NY sports radio since I don't like any of the local teams.

You get 60 channels as part of their free preview, but with the select package for $25 for 6 months, you get 140 channels. And there's no Howard on the free channels, but it's there on Select.

I actually just recently received an email from Sirius XM notifying me of a settlement.
If you bought or leased a new or used vehicle that included Sirius XM radio on a promotional basis and later received a call to your mobile phone made on behalf of Sirius XM, but were never a paying subscriber prior to July 5, 2016, you may be entitled to benefits from a class action settlement.
Basically class members are entitled to 3 months free service or to participate in a 35$ MM settlement refund. Has anyone else gotten this??

I'm with you here, the self promotion of Sirius while listening to Sirius drove my wife and I crazy....we both dumped it and don't miss it.

Thanks for this. I see that mine is also running, although limited channels.

Well for $25 for 6 months, I don't really mind as I listen to it half the time when I get bored with Spotify/radio. Although I can't get Spotify to work on the 2011. Some DRM or other issue when I plug it into the cable in the glove box. Bluetooth quality isn't that good and tends to skip once in a while.

I use Spotify exclusively, but I have my playlists downloaded in Extreme quality, so it sounds pretty good (compared to their Normal quality). Every time I try to listen to the radio (if my phone is dead, for example), all I get on each channel are commercials. Not worth my time. I guess Sirius doesn't have commercials (?), but I don't like the DJs talking my ear off all day either. And now that I did a muffler delete, I can turn all of that off and listen to the car as well. And that's free
I do experience BT skipping though, but it doesn't happen often and only lasts a second, if that, and then goes away. It doesn't last long enough to be bothersome, in other words.
And I'm pretty picky with the noises, like the sound of the turn signal ticking (hate it), the click of the turn signal stalk itself (sounds like it's breaking), the sound of the Comand knob as it spins (annoying), squeaking from the center console (god-awful)... the list goes on. Listening to music real loud (not someone talking or commercials) tends to solve those problems, except for those rare occasions where the BT skips. But then all is well again right after.
