I test drove MKS back in past and was not impressed. Nothing particularly wrong, but not impressive.
The new Continental is way better in every respect.
I may just wait for the 2018's to see what develops for MB, Continental and G80.
I have time, but next Dec. my E will be due for a "B" service to include spark plug replacements.
Incidentally, I purchased my 2010 E when the W212 had only been out for about 3 months, so it was a brand new design and very different from the W211 (2009).
