navigation update
After contacting MBUSA found out dealer never put in for a PTSS. Contacted CEO of dealership he checked into problem. He said they replaced the antenna and cable to head unit. They have ordered overnight express a new head unit. When it comes in he said it will be installed then programmed. Said I should have car back sometime by Wednesday. He said they tested the antenna and cable with a temporary head unit and it was picking up the signal that is why they ordered a head unit. Only time will tell.

Dealer said they ordered head unit Friday then they said they ordered it overnight shipping yesterday. It did not show up today. I asked for the tracking number. They said part was in Carol Stream about 20 min from dealer. I said I will go and pick it up. They said they should be getting it tomorrow afternoon. What is the point of not telling the truth? If they get part in afternoon they will not start working on it Till Thursday. Friday the guy that actually works on it is going to a seminar. If he does not finish I will not get car till next week. I do not think I will go to this dealer for repairs anymore. I hate it when people lie to you. Over a week to replace a Navigation unit is unacceptable. Dealer is Motor Werks in Barrington Il.

Don't blame you for not going back there. I find it interesting that they don't see the urgency to get your car back. Too busy overcharging other customers for basic service to deal with a real issue.

I understand that they have given you a brand new E300 loaner. Is that correct? If no loaner then I totally agree with you.
If I have brand new comparable loaner, they can keep my car for a month and call me when ready. .

They called tonight and said they replaced the antenna they replaced the cable they replaced the head unit and they reprogramed the head unit and the new unit is not picking up the GPS correctly. They said there are some other command units that may be causing the problem, Then they asked if any of the things I had added to the car was taped into the GPS. I said if you replaced the antenna and you replaced the cable how can anything be tapped into it? You also stated that the GPs did work when you tested it with a test head unit. I also stated that 1 1/2 years ago when it was going out I had all the added things shut down. It made no difference the GPS was still placing me in the wrong spot. I told them it has a mind of its own, Usually after about 2 weeks it just starts working fine again. I knew they would bring up the stuff I added onto the car. But I can get in writing non of it would effect the GPS on the navigation. I told him to check the splitter on the antenna and that is probably where it is bad.

typical dealership. when they dont know what to do, blame the owner for adding aftermarket stuff.
i wouldnt take the car back until its properly fixed and documented. for now, just enjoy your loaner mate.

Talked to dealer again and they said they disconnected all my stuff I added and it still would not pick up signal so he said he knows now it is not the aftermarket stuff. I told him to go back to the splitter on the antenna and they should replace it. He said they would look into it

They all know the car. The service manager said the technicians that have worked on the car say it is the most quiet riding car they have ever been in. I put sound deadening in trunk and underside of car so you do not hear the road. Looks like I probably will not get my car till the end of next week or later. Cannot believe they do not know how to fix the navigation . I wonder if they cannot fix the navigation do they give me a new car?

It's sad when you have to tell the mechanic what to do. Will they replace the car for a bad navigation. Good luck with that. Even lemon law may not apply since it is not a critical and important aspect of the car.

Got call from Dealer they said Navigation is working. They replaced antenna Cable and head unit. Put in latest updates to navigation. He said he put my address into navigation and it took it. I told him that was first time since I owned the car. They said I can come and pick car up at 9:30 they are cleaning it now. Will let you know more after I pick it up.

Picked up car. Navigation works correctly and I can actually put my street address in and it took it. I have to bring car into place to have eco module redone. When they were installing head unit they disconnected the eco turn off button so I have to bring car in on Monday to the shop that installed the module. Car seems to run fine.
AS far as the E300 2017 it is a beautiful running car. Everything on that car worked well. It would actually b e a car I would buy if I needed one. It gets 5 stars out of 5
