Pre-facelift wood trim question
I've seen various interior pictures on pre-facelift W212's, and it looks like the vertical trim that surrounds the temperature controls is wood matching the rest of the interior, black ash in particular. On my 2015 with black ash, the temperature surround is flat black plastic. So if the pre-facelift version is wood trim, is it easily removed, if so what is the part number for it in black ash?

if you talking about the brown piece , yes its pretty easy to remove/replace/install/etc
two screws on left and right top
and then just slightly pull the unit towards you , there are 3 wire connectors on the back , unplug those , and then take a closer look on the back side , you should see plastic tabs , undo those and there you go.

There's a whole video on youtube about how all those parts are removed.
