Poor Seating Ergonomic
I have a 14 E350 Sport 4matic MB Tex seats. The positioning of the seat is killing my back. Does anyone else have the issue? Any suggestions?
On a side note, I test drove 3 Audi A6 Prestiges the last few days and the seats in the Audi felt much more comfortable... I'd hate to jump ship, but may have to if I can't find ways to improve the seat.

It does, but it's more than just lumbar adjustments. I feel like I have to tilt the seat forward so my knee is at a better angle. However, after adjusting the back, my head is very close to the roof and still doesn't feel right.
I actually made a deal on an A6 yesterday. Hopefully the A6 will help.

I had two Audi A6, a C6 and a C7, both prestige. While the A6's standard seats are a slight improvement over the E350's, I still had problems with it on long trips. BMW 5 series standard seats are the best of the three, but it can still present problems on extended seat time. Personally, I always try to look for a car with upgrade seats, the 2017 A6 recently added the upgrade comfort seat which is suppose to be amazing. BMW's comfort seats are some of the best in the business. Finally, the Mercedes contour seats are one of the most comfortable seat I have sat in within this segment.

I sat in a new A6 yesterday and found the cabin really small and the seats not so good. Seating comfort is always a crap shoot. I had an '08 G37 S Infiniti for only 18 months before I couldn't take the seats any longer. I have never had an issue with the E class cars I have owned.

I find the seat pan a bit narrow, but the back rest is perfect for me. I have a bit of a sway back, and with the lumbar I can drive for hours without fatigue. That said, it does take some time and adjustments to get there. M-B seats...are not the easiest to get comfortable in. I have an E300 loaner and these seats are not as good. even narrower in the backrest.

i tilted the bottom seat cushion all the way back (back side all the way down and front all the way up) and then adjusted the seat back and lumbar as needed. Now i have the seat in a great position, with no fatigue or stress at all. And i stay firmly planted in it without sliding forward.
Hope this helps.

Can't disagree. I'm surprisingly happy with the E class seats, especially with the dynamic side bolster and the adjustable lumbar. I'm sure someone will flame me for saying this, but my old Porsche Cayenne Turbo had seats that I could just never adjust to get comfortable. 18-way adjustability and it just varied degrees of discomfort.

The seats in European cars are quite hard compared to US made cars. It was a big difference when I went from the 2004 Chevy Tahoe to the 2009 Audi Q7. From Audi Q7 to the current 2010 E550 is not much different other than my car has the dynamic driver seat. It is as hard though.
The most comfortable seat of any car I have had was the one in the Tahoe.

The Swedes know how to do seats. Not in the same class but my Volvo S80 has very comfortable seats. Probably best I've owned were in an old Saab 900 S. Just got a new to me '14 E350, looking forward to see how they feel on long trips.
