Cruise stalk vs. Turn indicator
2 1/2 years driving the E classes, and I still sometimes hit the cruise stalk when I want the turn signal, and vice-versa.
Am I the only one?

No .... You are welcome. .
But honestly I love the cruise stalk in that position since i can operate CC blindly without taking my eyes off the road. Any other button on the steering wheel would need a quick glance to make sure what I'm pressing.

In 2012 E350, the cruise stalk is above the turn signal, which they swapped around in later years. Since my E350 is the same as my 300SEL, it does help a lot!
This morning I was driving a new GLE loaner, and I hit the cruise stalk every time I had to turn.

still happens to me but not all the time. My wife complains about it whenever she drives my car. However, when she does use the correct stalk for the turn signal, she will often press in the end of it which results in a quick pass of the wipers on a dry windshield. On her car (and the others I've owned in recent memory), the wiper stalk is on the right side and only does wipers.

Happens to me all the time now. When I had my Lexus and my E350 coupe I almost never hit the wrong stalk.
However, we traded the Lexus for an E300, which has the stalks reversed from my E350. I drove both cars regularly and mostly get it right in the E350, but almost always hit the cruise control instead of the turn signals in the E300.

At first, it threw me off but after using the E-class it made sense and avoided the cruise control stalk.
It messes me up for a second or two once I switch cars though.

Yup!
After ~2.5yrs of ownership, I still find myself getting the cruise and turn signal stalks mixed up every once in awhile. Whether it's better or not, it's opposite of most cars in the USA and therefore "wrong" in my opinion. It's far from a deal breaker, though.
Add the "three on the tree" tranny selector and my wife thinks my car is super silly. I get it!

nope, not the only one...
and with the trans selector on the col (2014 E350), every time I drive the kids toyota, I keep activating the wipers instead of shifting into reverse!

You don't need a different manufacturer for that - or even a different model of car! I regularly move between my E63 with the transmission selector in the center console, and my wife's E250 with it on the column. I frequently find myself swiping my hand through the air reaching for the shifter in the wrong place on the cars.
