Transmission Service - 2011 E350 ????

Coming up on 85,000 miles and want to do the transmission service.

My indy tells me this is draining fluid, dropping pan, and installing new filter. Quoted $325.

Does Mercedes call for a flush, or is the above what MB recommends?

had mine done about 90,000 kilometers. cant remember if my indy did a flush, its ok but unnecessary. price difference between US and Aus but i reckon thats fair.

I think the torque converter on the 2011 model has its own drain plug, so I cannot see the need for a flush. But the pan has to be dropped for a new filter.

Very reasonable. Make sure he is using the correct fluid though for refill. I've seen a lot of indy's pump in generic atf vs the correct OE/OE equivilant fluid. I am doing mine this week. It costs the shop about 17/liter for OE, 8 for oe equivilant, and 5-6 for generic.... It is infrequent enough that it needs changing that I decided to bite the bullet and go OE. Probably not necessary, but it's my baby

Did mine at the MB Dealer a few weeks $398. Dropped the pan, drained all the fluid and replaced with a new filter and pan gasket. Should have drained the Torque Converter too but apparently "that's unnecessary". Anyway, these transmissions don't get flushed only drain and fill. Proper Service includes what I stated above plus draining the torque converter.

500 mile race around an oval track near Indianapolis. Thus called an Indy. If you do multiple runs back to back it's called Indys

there are no points for creativity here.
