10 E550 exhaust delete Pro's and Con's

Just picked up a 2010 e550 with 65k on it ,
this thing is quick so not really looking for HP . I just want something with a little rumble . It is possible to run and American muffler such as flow master or magna flow ?
I've seen videos where people cut them off they're off and just weld pipe in and they sounds good but I'm worried I might get a check engine code .
Thanks Gary C from CT

Magnaflow mufflers are used on at least one of the aftermarket systems for our cars, so yes, you can weld in whatever muffler you want Your muffler realistically shouldn't give you a code even if you just put a straight pipe in. I've never heard of that before.
