Using foot to open trunk

I have a 2004 E350 with keyless go and just realized that i had this feature where you kick your foot under the rear bumper and the trunk will automatically open and close. I have a friend who has a 2013 E350 coupe with keyless go. Does that mean that he would have the same feature?

They didn't have this in 2004. Are you sure about this?

Sorry. I meant that I have a 2014 E350, not a 2004.

window sticker on my 2014 e350 lists "389 keyless go package: hands free access, electronic trunk closer, keyless go"
does he have the electronic trunk closer?

you can always run his vin and get the option lists

I'll check to see if he has the red buttons in the trunk that are used to close the trunk. I would assume that if he doesn't, then the "foot action" wont open the trunk.

That is a well optioned car, but no 871 code. No foot sweep.
