2010 E550 front license plate bracket

2010 E 550
2010 E550 front license plate bracket
So in CA we have to have front plate. My E550 sedan did not come with any mounting brackets (totally smooth bumper) Mercedes wants $100 for the bracket. Not sure what after market will fit. Any ideas are great.

Don't do it! There are options that screw into the front tow hook thing, as well as some hideaway ones that mount under the bumper. I forget the recommended brand names for both, so I'm totally useless right now, but they should be listed somewhere on this forum.

Show N Go electronic retractable mount. I'd be afraid to use it if I had a lip mounted on the front due to clearance though. I have a factory one I'd probably sell if you don't decide to go with the retractable.

I did cut it , and then smoothed out the edges(but its a good idea if you can just bend it and put in between the bumper and the grille on the bottom and maybe just zip tie on top corners)

what are your thoughts on those dealer licence plate holders/frames?
(those that have the name of the dealer & phone number on them).
Would it be a strange thing to ask the dealer for plain ones..?

If they slighted you and still want the sale, you can negotiate for a "no dealer markings" kind of deal. But without leverage they'll leave their stuff plastered all over your car.
