ELW paid for itself 2010 E class
73000, miles
had the drivers seat replaced around 55k as a goodwill outside 4 year warranty
bought a 2 pack maintenance package for 1050 last week and took it in for service
1) oil seperator / cam plugs leaking
2) washer fluid tank leaking replaced
3) transfer case leaking - removed and resealed
happy that I bought the piece of mind,

you title mentions ELW (which makes me think you got it extended to 6 or 7 years, 75k or 100k miles)
but then your post says driver seat replaced as a goodwill outside of warranty.
if you got the ELW, why did goodwill come into play?

Drivers seat not covered under ELW,
but because I was servicing my car with MB dealer, and I had ELW, they were willing to cover the drivers side seat cover

I am always very skeptic about freebies that you don't deserve.

The reality is MB should hold a hard "NO" on repairs outside of warranty, but if you are a good customer, they will bend that rule. Something like a seat cover that has wear on it, is nobody but the customers fault. Hard to tell people that though when they pay a very large sum to purchase and maintain the car, and often MB will just eat a couple hundred $$ to keep a customer happy.
ELW is also a big purchase, and is essentially direct profit to MB until you've used up enough of it to exceed what you paid (doesn't take much though), so they like to take care of those customers, as they are very good for business.

So Kash, you bought the 2 pack to save $$ on the 80k service I presume. You got some bang for the buck out of that too.
For these repairs, did they raise the issues to you or did you point them out?
How much time left on the ELW? Are you planning to keep the car much longer?

Yes, I called the dealer, quoted me almost a grand or so for the 80K service. I was not sure if my car qualified for the service packs, but to my surprise it was when the finance guy plugged my VIN in.
I went ahead and got the 2 pack for 1050, I think the 3 pack was 1400 something.
I know for sure I want to keep the car for at least 2 more years, not 3 so I got the 2 pack.
The repairs were pointed out by them, but obviously they wanted me to change my tires, do an alignment, and change the rear differential fluid, I declined all of that work.
I have less than 2 thousand miles or until september left on my warranty. Overall I'm happy, knowing it was the first year of the w212, it worked out in the end.

Apparently, you can purchase the PPM so long as car has less than 80k miles on it. Not that it will always be worth it like it was for you. I have about 78k on the dial and have been thinking about getting another PPM. But since the 80k service is done (thanks to the last of my PPM 3 pack), the next 2 or 3 services for me are just the A,B,A - no plugs or ATF again until 120k. So it doesn't make as much sense in my case.
I still have about 3 years left on my 3rd party extended warranty. Good to know your dealer spotted those issues. Makes me think mine hasn't been looking...

It was Maxcare which is the one sold by Carmax for their cars. Service at local dealer also recommended Fidelity based on their experience.

Depends on your model year, but getting a service pack to cover a tranny service is especially worth it

So do you have to use them in succession, or can younuse them as you like? In other words, if I purchased a 2-pack, can I use one for an expensive service B and the other for another expensive service (i.e. tranny service)...but pay of of pocket for the in between A service?

add on a repairing seat warmer (600 something dollars) and motor mounts.
if you are still under warranty, put your car in reverse and hold the brakes if you notice a slight vibration, probably the motor mounts
200 more miles to find any more problems before the ELW expires
