I bought this 10 E550 4matic a month ago. 90k. Dealer maintained. Figured I would post up some pics.

-black front grill
-20% tint. Tinted sunroof glass with 20 also
-55% ceramic heat block tint on windshield
-new front pads and rotors
-alignment
-idler pulleys

-de badged trunk
-blacked out lower door trim
-removed mercedes hood ornament
-blacked out chrome trunk lid trim
-cabin air filter
-command button logo

I like the SLS style wheels! Your car looks very familiar... like mine... lol so maybe I am biased, but your car looks really good. Same tint I have too.
@ Peachy... can't speak for OP, but I debadged my 550 because of its sleeper status. It looks like all the other 350s in the area, so people treat it as such (with indifference). Most people won't care if I'm driving a 550, 350, diesel, or AMG... the people who do get to wonder which it is.

Congrats on the new ride. Nice car.
Can you please post what the letters on the wheel?
This is the first time I'm looking at reps, with some emblem on the lip of the wheel.
Thanks.

Your car looks great! You need (IMO....I have one on my W210 and W202, no front plate needed in Tennessee) and it really makes the back look nice and clean.

PS...I'm from NJ....Hopewell! When I had no front plate I would get pulled over a lot!

Congrats to OP!!!
So Clean!! and nicely done!!
Really ?? I don't see E550 much in B.C.
Expect me and my buddy.
There are actually more E63S than E550 in B.C.
Lots of E550 in Calgary ?
I am going to put my badge back on soon.
I want ppl to know i am driving a E550 actually.

I don't mess around. Ha.
I recently finished up a 5 year build of my 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser 80. I have over a 1000 hrs into that build......and enough money into it that I could have bought a few of these e550's...That build got a little out of hand but I love that rig like a kid. All to mash it up in the woods.
So I am sure I will be modding the E550 at a fast pace. Ha. Only thing is these car's are so mint there is not much to do to them. I'll likely just fix any issues that arise right away. Next up is to fix my DS high beam issue, and over running airmatic compressor. Prob replace rear bags.

Same way I feel. I can go months before I see another E550. So it's kinda rare, even if it's just an E class. I've never thought of debadging and I have a RWD which I think is even more rare.

I actually like how the car looks stock better to be honest. I guess it's just me..
Personally I would never debadge the E550. Why would you hide that? Sleeper status? Seriously, are you constantly driving around looking for people to race? Or are you constantly surrounded by people who are driving around looking to race you? I really doubt it. And even if so, who the f…k cares? I actually want to show people I drive E550. Yes, I do because I am proud of it. Again, it's just my preference.
All these mods, blacking out and smocking everything look like people are trying too hard and go way overboard. Especially on a classic sedan like E class (I’m not referring to E63). This is NOT a performance car. Whatever you do it is never going to be one. Period.
That being said, you have got a great car. Enjoy it in good health! Cheers!

Personally, either way is fine with me; I loved seeing the embarrassment when I would smoke the wanna-be racers in my E550.
So I wouldn't go as far as saying people are trying to "make" it a performance car. When they dropped the 5.5 litre V8 in there, it became a performance car. The car hauls ***. That's a given. People just want options without having to get an E63; we all like powerful luxury things, including you, sir. Or else you wouldn't have purchased your E550 and felt "proud of it".

The same way you are "proud" of your E550...may be the same "pride" a person, who has debadged theirs, will have when he smokes that jerk in the Camaro/Mustang/Charger/Challenger/Corvette who always wants to race---the look on the loser's face is priceless when he realizes he just got beat by a "classic sedan" (as you put it). And debadging is not just a "thing". Obviously it's widespread, because there is a factory "badge delete" option. I chalk it up to personalization or preference; the same way one has the option/choice to not drill holes in his bumper for the front license plate bracket, etc.
Personally, either way is fine with me; I loved seeing the embarrassment when I would smoke the wanna-be racers in my E550.
But you also have to remember: this is no longer the "classic sedan" of the 70s/80s/90s/(and even 2000s). The E-class has evolved; sure it is still an Executive-class car, but there are now AMG variants and wagons and such. I don't think blacking out things is "going way overboard"; trying to hard for what? People like personalization. Maybe I don't want all that damn chrome/satin/silver all over the place. Maybe I want to be more subtle. BMW has the shadowline trim option from the factory, which unfortunately Mercedes does not offer.

Don’t get me wrong I am all for the performance upgrades (even cosmetic) coming from the manufacturer (shadow line from BMW you had mentioned, etc..) and if it is done tastefully and in moderation.
No need to be so ticked off by me saying that I’m proud. This was just a general reference in relation to debadging thing. And I did mention that it is simply my preference, nothing else. I am not driving my car around screaming that I’m “proud” of it. LOL… Everybody is entitled to his own opinion and there is nothing wrong with that.
Cheers, bud.

Actually there is a "night package" option code for blacked out trim pieces. It's just expensive, so people wrap or Plasti-dip it.

And that is exactly why MB dropped E550 entirely from their lineup. They will no longer be offering it going forward. Simply because of the fact that people who want to buy/drive performance car would opt out for E63 or more of budget variant - E43. All the rest is pretty much E300 or E400. At least here in North America.

I was just saying...
I am not ticked off, because it didn't offend me, because I know all of my modifications are done tastefully. And I never once said you "screamed you were proud". I was just offering a "voice" for those people who you made reference to (and seemingly have a strong opinion about, i.e. "Why would you hide that? Sleeper status? Seriously, are you constantly driving around looking for people to race? Or are you constantly surrounded by people who are driving around looking to race you? I really doubt it. And even if so, who the f…k cares?"), by opening up dialogue and trying to ascertain if you have actually thought that the same pride you exude about your E550 could be the same pride another person has of their customization, but in a different iteration.
No hard feelings bud. Cheers!

I keep the E550 badging on the back of my car because it has 200 more f*** yous than a E350 for people around here that seem to care, which unfortunately they do. And I don't yield to cars with lower model numbers for the same reason. "Eingebaute Vorfahrt!"

I don't see why one can't go out and buy the pieces and install it themselves if they so desire. Apparently it's not that hard. But to answer your question, it probably is still limited to AMG cars, if that's the only place where you can find it as an option (I didn't know that if it's true).
