12 e550 (M278)- Weird noise coming from engine bay
Hello everyone,
Recently had my tensioners and check valves done and I am getting this weird noise that comes and goes. To me it sounds like the chain is rubbing against a guide? Dropped it off a week after the newly done work with video evidence and they had it for over a week saying they cant reproduce it. With that being said, I respected their diagnoses and haven't heard anything since until recently. It comes and goes and I cant reproduce it in order for them to hear it in person to allow my warranty to cover the work. Any idea on what this could be? Also is it true that video evidence isn't enough for them to justify the work? Any idea would be greatly appreciated.

I can hear the scraping noise coming from your car maybe its your guides that need replacing?
On the 2nd video i can hear strange noise on start up. Not sure whats going on there.
How many miles on your guys car? Mine has 77k with tensioners replaced. No warranty.

M-B USA offers Repair Parts warranties that includes labor if done by a M-B Dealer. Again, I would heed Konigstigers advice about getting M-B USA involved if the repairs were recently done. Personally, he has been quite helpful to me in the last 4 M-B's I purchased.
