What is the name/# of this part?
Would like to replace this bumper component myself. I could not confirm the name or part number online. We have a 2014 E350 Wagon (non-AMG). Bought the car two weeks ago and it got nailed by something on Monday lol. Curse of the Mercedes....
Busted bumper component
Also, is there any reason I should not replace this myself? There seems to be a cable/cord connected to it that should be easy to disconnect/connect to the new piece. Any know the purpose of this (a sensor?).
Thanks a lot!

Looks like you are going to need 2 pieces.. the chrome strip in the middle # 212-885-29-21 and the piece that it attaches to behind it # 212-885-21-22
The only bad thing about replacing this yourself, is that it will probably require removal of the front bumper cover to get in there and replace it. If you feel up to the task, by all means...

Thanks a ton. Was hoping I could just snap it in but back of my mind was thinking I might have to take off something else.
I've never worked on a car.... Would like to start learning basics like this though. Is there a manual/reference that would direct me through the steps? I found online a diagram with parts but it's not detailed. Assuming there's not a YouTube video with this specific example, are their general resources for folks who want to do basic work (on this car or others)?
Much appreciated...

So looking at the parts diagram, it is listed as #20. Does that mean all 19 other components have to be removed first? If so, wow, that is tedious.

I'm sure someone on here can link a .pdf file for the work instructions.. If you haven't done any kind of work on your car before, this isn't what I would call beginner work. You do have to remove the front bumper cover, not scratch the fenders or headlamps and then you also have to make sure to disconnect and properly reconnect everything including any electrical connectors so that you don't have any system failures or warnings coming up during the next drive cycle. Not trying to scare you away from trying, just make sure you have some time and a dry/warm place to do it all in.

May also need rear cover (227 in diagram) depending on damage.

My car is a 2010 model so it could be made differently but also I think it is built in the same principal way. I replaced my right side hockey stick DRL and all I needed to do for access was to take about half dozen screws of the dust shield under the front of the car to be able to bend it to get to the light. I did not even remove the shield.
Job was was quite easy.
