New to the forum and first mod
Just picked up a clean 2012 E350, silver with gray MBT, last week from Fields near OP and so far love it. Today I decided to to do the first mod; I upgraded the so so lighting to full LED/HID from Twelvolt in Fleming Island. While I don't recall brands, the results are amazing to say the least; best mod money I've ever spent. Did the full front and interior lighting package. Wanted full LED up front, but the low beams are a real PITA to replace without pulling a bunch of stuff off, and he was running behind, so I agreed to HID, and he cut me a good deal. LEDs are 6k, and IIRC the HID are in the 6400 - 6600 range. It's so close on color that its perfectly acceptable. He also did the city lights. Next up are the side front markers, then the package should be complete. The interior is now like a stadium in comparison.
I'll get some after pics soon. Then find the full specs on the invoice.

If you own one, you know just how drastic of an improvement this is, since I didn't get any before pics, everyone else will just have to trust me. One slight problem is the drivers side city light suddenly quit working. No worries; they'll make it right.

These are not great pictures; there is zero glare with a perfect beam disbursment. Overall I still feel these lights are well worth the upgrade. Since there's not much else I want to do to her, except for front rotors which are warped to hell and back, everything else is perfect. Once I step out in my Schoot Buckhead everyone gawks.

Girl friend and I are getting pretty serious. Right now she's driving an ILX that rattles like a tin can and has no headroom. Next year she'll be getting this and I'm hunting down a CPO ML/GLE 350 or 450 for family duties as well as towing a camper. Otherwise, I LOVE this car! Best money ever spent on a major purchase.

Welcome to the forum.
Glad you like your mod.
The GLE 450 is a rare beast (and in my opinion, should replace the 350 as the base model), so good luck on your search when you start shopping around.

I've had Morimoto 6k 35w hids in the low beam projectors for couple years now, work great. Similar to you, leds in other locations and interior .
Enjoy your car - but - be aware they can get expensive to fix! Good info here from most that do their own maintenance.
You can also look at galleries for different changes owners have done. My case was cosmetic, wrapped trim and grille, powdercoated rims and tail light tint.
You mentioned brakes, here's my experience :

I changed my headlight bulbs awhile back to the Osram Night Breakers. They're noticeably brighter. I wanna change my interior lights too but I never seem to get around to it :B

Thanks. The city light issue was a loose connection, no worries. I love these lights. Costly, yes, but worth it, just like the car itself.
Thanks for the link to the brakes. At some point Im just going to bite the bullet and go with their black coated slotted and drilled kit with the recommended pads. I tramp on mine pretty hard with all the nuts in this town, and they need to hold up to some abuse.

The only other nitpick is a couple of interior rattles. The first is the IP bezel contacting the steering column collar; same annoying issue with my 2017 Outlander. A piece of black foam took care of it. Second is in the moonroof control panel. It got worse after bulb install, so assuming something was missed. I did push the lens all the way in and the noise abated, but did not clear. Such an annoyance.
I thought about coating the grilled and emblem, but then would have to color match belt line rear trim, then where does it stop? If I decide to do something along those lines there are a couple of places around here who do the hydro wrap thing. Would also love to have a full leather conversion done at some point to something more striking than the gray/black combo.
However, the wheels are screaming for an upgrade. I would like to strip and polish, but a knight chrome would look good as well, `For now one needs a touchup.
Otherwise shes perfect. Ive never had such a nice car, and Ive owned an E38 which was garbage. Its sexy, fast and comfortable. Overall I believe it strikes the right balance for me. However, as I said, my girlfriend/fiance needs something better, and I want something that can tow. I feel really comfortable turning it over to her, and really good that she will be safe driving it. Both of my ladies deserve the best.

You've got a wonderful car. Definitely a huge upgrade for you so enjoy it. Good luck with hunting for the ML/GLE, some of those older 2012-13 ml550's are beastly cars for a good price if you don't mind the mpg's.
