Seeking some inspiration
Hi, I recently got my w212.
Long story short is that Ive always driven BMWs, But as we are awaiting a new little family member the E90 M-sport sedan had to go and the MB w212 seemed like the perfect combination of fullfilling my love for german engineering and safely transporting my family.
Its a 2010 E220 CDI and theres a bunch I want to change with it.
I already got new wheels.
next Im looking into a grille with the Big star and theres is a whole sea of them... I’ll probably get it off of eBay so question one is what grille is to prefer? Im kind of subtle so nothing obnoxious.
other than that Ive found some chrome AMG-styled seat-adjustment covers and doorpanel-switches.
what else is a definitive uplift for a w212 Stationwagon?

Well, I tend to leave drivetrain more or less stock, but I have fiddled with other things, maybe it gives you another idea. I'm also more of a subtle applicator so tend to do things that show after a second look. I do think though, that simply having a clean, crisp looking car goes a long way to a good overall impression. Thinking about things like, if I redo the wheel, then the brakes should be something other than rusted vagabonds hanging there in space. I'm lucky to be able to keep the car garaged, so paintwork gets claybar and wax about once a year or so, wax couple times a year. Interior is kept clean and I use Aerospace 303. Basically I just feel better in a clean maintained vehicle lol.
I did add the small emblem to the COMAND knob.
Puddle lights
Black MB center caps to replace oem blue caps. I had the oem rims redone in titanium gray finish and wanted the caps to match better.
My preference is to retain the hood MB logo, I think it looks refined, but I did all exterior chrome trim in 3M brushed titanium vinyl.
Light tint (Avery) on tail-lamps and slightly darker tint on upper headlights to follow sweep of hood.
Other members here have gone far beyond what I've done, but for me this made the car a little less chrome-y.

Thanks. I did it myself, took a couple of tries the first time on the taillights due to compound curves but thanks to youtube video (ckwraps) and heatgun I got it on. Fronts were easy.

Hey Mud, I see you're here in TX. Where did you find the 3M brushed titanium vinyl? I assume it's a flexible tape?
I would like to do something similar with my composite sport steering wheel center. The chrome is a constant glare producer.

Our friends at eBay 😊, vendor was Metro Restyling, 3M 1080 wrap. Avery film is also very good, so between the two mfg you should be able to find a good choice.
The brushed titanium looks grayish from a distance, up close it has a low sheen and directional brush pattern.
